I wish he fought for me as hard as he fights for Mexicans.

"No, Teamster jobs. F 'em."

Here's an interesting forecast. Check out the website for other interesting data: ops.fhwa.dot.gov

Do you live or work near one of the heavy green lines? I do... and it's one of the main corridors for freight headed to the northeast (I-10 and I-12 through Louisiana, and I-59 north through Mississippi and into Alabama).

Hey, archy... looks like Memphis is a "chokepoint" for another freight corridor to the northeast. That information is, shall we say... interesting.

2020 is less than two decades away - but if Bush has his way, we're talking far less time than the map depicts.

And look at the map - TEXAS will be the worst hit of any state in the Union.

Other items the map is not depicting are the new interstates coming on line within the next ten to fifteen years.

For example, the new I71 will be a major N - S artery beginning in New Orleans and reaching all the way to the Canadian border.

How convenient.

Declaration of US delegates at Meeting Against FTAA in Cuba

We who are delegates from lands stolen from indigenous peoples, now called “the United States”, wish to express our deep appreciation to Cuba and to the Cuban people for their hospitality, generosity, and forbearance towards us.

We are grateful for all we have experienced, and for all we have gained from being here.

We have learned much from our fellow delegates, we realize we have much yet to learn from your levels of comprehension, organization, an articulation of issues gravely concerning us all. We applaud, and hope to emulate your inspiring faith in, and determination to realize, a world where enemies cease to exist, a world where all who live, find themselves at home

"Pandering to any ethnic group rewards them for putting their ethnic identity before the interests of America."

Exactly.

That's certainly a good point. I noticed another "High Priority Corridor" mapped out from the southern tip of Texas, cutting northeast near the Louisiana-Arkansas border and continuing in that direction all the way to Indianapolis (I think the designation is I-69).

It's rather ironic that Eisenhower announced the interstate project as the "National Defense Highway System", isn't it? It's now being turned into a paved four-lane invasion route.

"I'll be damned, I thought Bush really wanted to be re-elected. Guess not."

It's amazing, but history has clearly shown that leaders usually set the stage themselves for their own downfall. Bush has done it, too, and in spades. What is surprising is that he's done it so quickly. He is giving every indication that he is putting the interests of Mexico and Mexicans ahead of those of America and Americans. Flame away, FReepers, but Bush's actions in the last year border on the inexcuseable (hell, many of them ARE inexcuseable). I voted for him in 2000, and I was so full of hope and optimism when he took the oath of office. Aside from his laudable actions re: the WOT (except the Patriot Act, which I do find questionable), he has, for the most part, been a great disappointment.

Bush's love affair with Mexico and Mexicans is breathtaking to behold. I have never in my lifetime see a president who was so enamored with a foreign country, and to the detriment of his own nation. And Mexico, of all places! A third-world, corrupt toilet of a country that has NEVER comtributed ANYTHING towards the betterment of the human condition. I am just flabberghasted at his abject pandering to Mexico and Mexicans. To see an American president groveling so is an embarrassment. Sorry W, but you've lost my support come November.

Yes, please do. :-)

FYI, my search for "I-171" turned up *this*:

It looks like the corridor you mentioned is now the I-49 project, which forks into I-35 and I-29, which continues all the way to Canada. That project intersects with the I-69 project (which is obviously planned to run beyond Indianapolis, all the way to Toronto) in the northwest corner of Louisiana. If you know anyone who lives in the Shreveport/Bossier City area, advise them to move before this crossroads becomes functional.

Perhaps it's part of a grand scheme to shuttle the Mexican illegals directly to Canada, eh? (I wish).

Many thanks!

I'm not able to get that other map to come up anymore, is there another place you can link to it from (the one showing the NAFTA 2020).
