OK ....let's assume you are correct (I'd guess lower)....but....what percent of that 35% would vote for YOUR candidate How many would vote for my candidate? All of them would provided they thought he had a chance of winning. Most of them are too afraid of the Dems to jump the Rep ship. This game of having 2 parties (in reality it's one party with two different names) is kind of like being on a ship and trying to decide if you want to mutiny. If you don't get enough to join your mutiny, you end up walking the plank. Most of the "real conservatives" cannot see that you need to put it all at risk if you want real gains. Instead they opt for a slow death with the Republicrats at the helm.

I didn't mention that Kevin also said that he'd tell the President that his fly was down, but I thought that was a bit too personal to say publicly...........

What?! Liberty Committee has a forum here?
I haven't seen it. Some new corner of FR I haven't found?
I consider those guys (and gal) to be my congressman, not that RINO who pretends to represent me. They're the ones I write to. But I write the RINOs when they ask.
Liberty Caucus and Tom DeLay are the only hope the hardcore conservatives have in Congress.

Kinda surprised by your post here. Just a bit of levity on a tense/strange thread. No harm or taunt intended.

Fair enough. Given the "tense/strange thread," though, and the word "parasite" in the post to which you responded, and your adversarial posting relationship with the poster who's name you punned, you can probably understand my confusion on that point. Can't tell you how pleased I was the Dodgers re-signed Beltre for $5 mil. It's been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing off-season for the Giants.

You've stated my position and question more eloquently than my own words on the subject...great work, and thank you.

You're not kidding me. You just like typing that. :-)I'm not sure what you mean by this statement... (?)

The Dodger off season has been worse. At least Fox is out, they were awful from day one.
The Angels may win again.

Way to invest that Kevin Brown money. The Angels may win again.
The Angels will be fierce if their pitching gels. Scary if they get a better SS than Eckstein.

I agree our REALITY changed alot on 9/11.
Unfortunately 99.999% of conservatives and republicans are not enlightened freepers and if W does not move back to the right he will loose in 04.
We must do all we can to make certain he moves right and we save our children.
I sat at Palm Desert Tobacco yesterday eve amongst a very conservative group and we were all discussing and agreeing on W not winning if he does not move back to the right.
To give you an idea of who hangs at Palm Desert Tobacco ( Corner of El Paseo and Larkspur):
General Tommy Franks was in on Wednesday to buy his pre embargo Cubans, 6 of us went to a fund raiser at the Mission Inn in Riverside CA to meet Ahnold, Rush buys cigars there when he plays the hope classic- its a very conservative crowd!
The mood among us die hard Conservatives/ GOPers has changed considerably overly that last year.
Sad
Push W RIGHT!

Well, thanks anyway.
But that is not
the Liberty Committee. And they don't have over 20 proven conservative congressmen in national leadership in the Liberty Caucus.

I voted for the President, have spent countless hours defending him, wrote letters to elected officials during Election 2000 imploring them not to let Gore steal the election; have overlooked some minor differences because I indeed thought they were minor enough not to shatter the party.
I feel this immigration policy is going to spell the end of the Republic, and voiced these concerns in no uncertain terms.
It's like the French Revolution out here; some of these people apparently would like nothing more than to set up the guillotines and start chopping away.
The names thrown about here at people who have been longtime supporters of the President (I've been here for quite some time, I've read they've written in the past, and what they stand for) are abominal. "Bush Hater" (I voted for him in 2000), Democrat sympathizers, "Trolls", etc. My favorite is "right winger", which one poster called me. I suppose she considers herself a "left winger".....an interesting turn of events, as the term 'right winger is apparently now used as an insult by some in the 'conservative' party.
If these people are the heart and soul of the Republican Party as they claim, then it seems that the party has been taken over by wild eyed French Revolutionaries who brook no opposition to any policy, however misguided.

I've been trying to tell people the same thing. A lot of conservative groups who used to field candidates seem dead in the water. I'm not even seeing slightly Republican candidates here, let alone anyone who merits being called conservative.
The pegs of the Big Tent are coming loose around here. Maybe just my area though.

If I may say, you are behaving irresponsibly with moderator power; it's one thing to zot something that is obviously intended to be disruptive; quite another to use this authority to carry out a vendetta against people you simply dislike.

We must have W in in O4 no doubt.
But the twenty or so of us that post regularly here on this very topic aint enough to have even swayed the Florida fiasco count!
He must move to his base to win.
Even if he funds NPR the demon crats are not going to support him.
You had to have heard Rush in the third hour yesterday.
If RUSH posted here with any regularity what he said yesterday I believe thered be immense pressure to have him banned.
