The only thing I disagree with Savage on his homosexuality - he dismisses it as an unimportant issue and won't discuss it much. He has a libertarian view on that I believe. However, homosexuality has everything to do with public health issues, the destruction of traditional marrriage and the nuclear family, and therefore all of society. However, I agree with him on just about everything else.

Being that I listen to all three, I have to say that this is a bald face lie.

They were upset when Bush's plan was announced. Then the Republicans got to both of them, and now all they talk about is Dizzy Dean and Lurch Kerry.

That's Clark nice, but you specifically mentioned Tom Delay. He was the only one I was asking about, and the link you gave me does not mention him.

You know, you have some real balls comparing Michael Savage to Peter Singer. I think you owe swampfox98 and Dr. Savage an apology

Actually back in reply #60, swampfox was implying that I was of inferior intellect becuase I didn't have a PHD. I found an example of a person with a PHD who practically everyone on FR would agree is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, Singer, to make my point that 3 letters(PHD) does not give a person a superior intellect.

I accept your apology, Dane. :-) Actually, you are very articulate and state your case well; sadly you are usually wrong. But I didn't mean to disparage your intellect.

Free Republic is a place where many views can be aired. I appreciate that opportunity, as I know you and your many opponents do.

True, but Delay's our best friend in the House... There's NO way he'll go for this boondoggle.

Create a minefield and a military presence directly along the US/Mexican border. Will it cost money?

Are Americans really prepared to see, on a daily basis, CNN showing them losing arms, legs, lives on mines we've placed on the border? Don't you know how it'll be portrayed- they're just looking for a better life, and Bush killed them with these bombs... It would be a fiasco.

But there are many others you could have mentioned who have PhDs. You chose to mention Peter Singer. I find that deliberate, and reprehensible.

Guess what? Anything that Bush does is going to given a negative spin by CNN. And you know something else? I do not give a damn. Those that matter know full well CNN does not have any credibility.

Savage's ego concerns me. When Limbaugh does it you know it's humor, but Michael...

In any case, I like his rant and his shtick.

(I don't like it when he does the "mom"/"dad" thing. Your car is in the driveway..."mom." Your kids are idiots..."dad." And on and on until it makes me crazy.)

Yes but it would be pleasant for some of the journalist termites to wander into the mined area. Might produce some true reality TV. As General Sherman said when her heard several journalists had been killed "Splendid, now we can look forward to the latest news from hell."

Have you heard him tell some lame story and then go on and on about how brilliant it was and that everyone else is just too stupid to understand how ultra-intelligent it was?

Frequently. And even more frequently will he repeat something that was n FR three days before, and then pound us on the head, saying that we wouldn't hear this anywhere else, and that he was enlightening us with his exclusive news. Phbbt.

I've worked with a few Ph.D. candidates in getting their theses prepared ... and from what I've seen, it's an execrise in navigating the educational bureaucracy and in outlasting the insanity of the university.

But if your doctoral thesis isn't accepted, at least you get a Masters degree as a consolation prize.

At one point, I thought about doing post-graduate work. When I got a good look at it ... forget it. Never.

Perhaps you should keep your bleeping mouth shut if you do not know how to do some kind of research so it at least looks like you know what you are talking about.

Aw, c'mon, Houmatt. It doesn't look good if you tell everyone who disagrees with you to shut the hell up. That's not what Free Republic's about, and you know it.

I know you've got enough factual ammo to carry on a good argument, but that's just beneath you.

"4 billion divided by 8 million is $500 per person. That isn't a lot."

What percentage are workers that are sending their American made, often tax-free dollars, back to Mexico, and what percentage of them are sucking off the American teat via welfare "programs" and other government benefits and subsidies? Either way, we lose.

VU4G10 claims:   "87% of HIV Patients in L.A. County [come] from Mexico & Central America."

VU4G10 cites this study:   "HIV Prevalence Among Foreign- and US-Born Clients of Public STD Clinics"

That's crazy, that study says no such thing!!!

All it says is that 87% of those HIV patients that were so poor that they could only access health care through a FREE CLINIC were immigrants from Central America or Mexico. Only the poorest of the poor access their health care through a free clinic, and in LA County, that means immigrants from Central America and Mexico. If most of the free clinics patients are immigrants from Mexico and Central America, why would you not expect most of their HIV patients to be from there also?

In fact, if you'd just read the very next sentence in the study you cited, you would have found that there is a nearly identical incidence of HIV among U.S. and foreign born persons:

"HIV prevalence was similar for US and foreign-born clients (1.8% and 1.6% respectively)."   [dual parentheses edited out for clarity]
I sure hope this is not an example of something you learned while listening to Michael Savage, aka, "one of the brainiest guys around".

You might be able to pick up Savage weeknights on AM 1140 out of Richmond.

FYI: there's a talk jock leaving Richmond for DC, Michael Graham. He's an entertaining libertarian-conservative. He'll be on WMAL in February at 10 AM-noon bumping Dr Laura.
