Let's see, in the interest of "free speech", Al is now fist-fighting to stop others from stating their opinions. He "wrestled in high school". OOOH, please stop it Al, you're scaring me!!! What is he, like 5'5", 155Lbs. At least have the guts to say you fought the guy because you just didn't like what he said. Free speech is far too lofty an ideal to be left in the hands of an ass like Al Franken.

I'm reminded of the left's tired old Vietnam era slogan, "Fighting for peace is like f***ing for virginity".

Hmm...election related violence. I think that Al Franken may have inadvertently ushered in a new era in American politics. Does this now officially make us a third-world country? All of the "recently arrived" folks should now feel right at home.

Note to "liberals": In case you haven't figured it out yet, and are planning more of this kind of fun, we Republicans actually have guns, and we know how to use them. Most of us were carrying them for a living while you were chugging stale keg beer at the frat house. Now our kids are carrying on for us, while yours are at Brown or Columbia learning "contemporay lesbian culture and its impact on the Ecstasy industry".

Some interesting things do crop up when one looks at the definitions of "liberal. Things like "Lacking moral restraint", "Tolerant of varied views", or my favorite, "Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded".

Do any of you know any self-proclained Liberal who is even remotely broadminded, or tolerant of varied views? I do know several (well ok, all of them) who lack moral restraint. My niece actually once told me she doesn't believe in morals. I told her that to me, that's like saying "I don't believe in air". Maybe that's why she has a fatherless child.

This is positive proof that liberalism is a disease of the mind. Contemporary American "Liberals" are nothing of the sort. At best, they're really just dyed-in-the-wool socialists, and are afraid to admit it. At worst, they're hard-core communists and are too sneaky to admit it. Either way, they should be hunted with dogs.

Anyways, that's my morning rant. I hope Al tries to knock me down for it.

Four star rant. "Do any of you know any self-proclained Liberal who is even remotely broadminded, or tolerant of varied views?"

Answer: not one.

There has been an Orwellian "Freedom is Slavery" 180 degree redefinition of "liberal," as exeplified by soon-to-be rat party national talk show host Al Franken-stein assaulting a Dean heckler. "Free Speech" is a meaningless slogan for liberals, who are de facto completely opposed to the free expression of ideas.

I would note that liberalism is infecting the Republicans also, as exemplified by the so called Campaign Reform Act, shutting down some forms of political expression in the critical days before an election.

"I would also like to talk to some of Al's wrestling teammates. I'm sure he was the kid crying in the middle of the mat with his underwear pulled over his head from the atomic wedgie he just got"

Wow...what a visual image!

"His glasses probably just fell off. If the other guy had slugged him, there would have been more damage than just busted glasses. Also, if the guy had just hit him he wouldn't have been able to jump him from behind."

Had the other man hit Al, it would be front page news around the globe!

Ref your: <<"The way I've heard it described: Assault is the threat, Battery is the act. It is assault and battery">>

Thirty Years ago, it was typically referred to as "Assault and Battery", but more recently, I have noticed that LEO's typically use the word "Assault" to describe the event whether there was actually an Assault or not.

Perhaps I should ask someone to dig up their Black's Law Dictionary and check for me, but I believe The Assault is putting a person in fear of a Battery and the Battery is the actual Physical Contact. The point is that it is possible to have an event where one occurs without the other.

Joy! ([: ^ ) RamS

The thought has occurred to me to check out how fair and balanced the media has been with Al Franken since his body slam of a Dean critic. In my last post I showed how there had been an all out media blackout on the story. Since 1/27 there have been 90 stories mentioning Al Franken. Five of them mention the assault. One is from Al Franken himself denying the assault. Of course they come from mainstream news organizations like GOPUSA. One author posted a review of Franken's book four hours ago saying the 'The title screams, but Al Franken] is a soft-spoken man with a few simple goals". I guess she's speaking of a different Al Franken -- one that doesn't verbally and physically assault those that disagree with him.

If any story can illustrate the bias among the media it is this one.

Hey, lay off Al Franken! How is he supposed to help establish a single party state without resorting to violence? ;')
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
