"even the word "ketogenic" sounds a bit anal....i'm not preachin honey but folks on atkins sound more and more like scientologists or bots. "

I guess physicists must sound like "bots" to you as well, since they all seem to agree on those pesky Laws of Thermodynamics.

Ketosis is a particular metabolic state.

I guess that the NIH must be "bots" also for suggesting that children with epilepsy follow it?

I lost 25 pounds on Atkins in less than two months. I got off and it took a year to gain it all back. While on it my cholesterol and blood pressure plummeted. I think it works. Now if I can just get up one morning without popping the top on that first Dr Pepper. Once that sugar is in me it's all over until tomorrow. And for some time now tomorrow has never come.

And yet, these people aren't doing Atkins (at least not correctly) because standard barbeque sauce has tons of sugar and is not really appropriate for any phase of the diet.

The article actually says "meat and water". We have a BBQ restaurant here that seasons it's meat so well that BBQ sauce isn't really needed. Maybe people are just eating the roasted meat without the sauce?
