I ask Mazel about the follow-up story that Israel's embassy in Stockholm is moving because of fears over its security. No, no, that was a confusion, he says. The embassy may have to move because its landlord has other intentions for the site. It's an unrelated story. So where did it come from? I check at FreeRepublic.com, "a Conservative news source", which quotes the Jerusalem Post, reporting on an interview Mazel gave Israel radio on Monday. He said the move is part of "the general atmosphere of hostility towards Israel all around Europe - Sweden included".

If ever I am confronted by such an obviously vile, disgusting and insensitive artwork as this, I shall behave in exactly the same manner. We must find the antidote for this venom.
Sadly, according to numerous prophecies, this will not happen until it is finished.

The "artist" is pro-Palestinian - a practiced double-speaker. Does that not mean anything to the author of this piece?
Yes, it does -- for he shares the anti-Israel sentiment and the "art" of doublespeak.
What snakes!

I don't know all the details of who is who.
I posted it because FR was mentioned by the author.

I think what we should do is start a petition written in no uncertain words along the lines of:
When it comes to guarantying the freedom and safety for the state and people of Israel: I too am a Jew.
And then circulate to obtain signatures in the millions

Hey maui, did you read where Jerry Nachman is dead? Definitely our loss. I really liked his journalism and respected him as a man.

I've seen hundreds of FreeRepublic citations - but this is the 1st citation outside of the US and Canada that I can recall. Strange, in the age of Internet, where information jumps national boudaries in an instant.

Everyone interprets art differently. That's what makes it art. This attitude is the reason art has suffered so badly in the past century. Art is a means of communicating, not a means of obfuscating. The goal of the artist is to share his visions, which are so complex that a mere narrative recitation will not suffice. In the physical work, the artist produces the means whereby other people will share his perception of reality.

This dreck isn't art, it's propaganda. The Swedish government is supporting it. Screw them.

The reason art has descended into the cesspit is because the so-called art lovers have allowed it. By not noting the difference between that which uplifts the soul and that which spits upon it, they are left with the lowest common denominator.
Those who look at something that is plain and simple and attempt to make something "complex" out of it merely show the world how completely shallow they are.
People who get a thrill out of a grizzly spectacle like this are people who have totally empty and useless lives.

"It's horrible, it's sick, but I can't for one moment accept that it is an apology for a suicide bomber. Everyone interprets art differently. That's what makes it art. If this were a propaganda work, the museum would have a case to answer - maybe. But it's not."
This jerk should definitely not be covering cultural events. This is unmistakable propaganda, and to deny that is to deny that art exists.

<< [We EURO-peons,"] she says, always have to be vigilant on anti-semitism because [It is our old evil.] >>
Never let it be forgotten that in WW-II the Germanic Swedes were the first and only Scandanavians to run to Hitler's side and, as the execrable Alqeada Goreleone was wont to opine, "the leopard doesn't change his stripes."

I hereby appoint you "WE" -- and me as your petition's first signatory!
