Mt Lassen is close, but it isn't heating up.

Pack up and be ready to go fast.

If the well water has heated up and it's not something gone wrong with the pump, magma must be on the move.

If the air temp is lower than that I would advise that you move east....quickly.

Our city water used to get that hot but well water should never get above 70. You're almost past "warm springs" temp

Get the Hell out! Water doesn't turn hot like that unless a little magma action is happening...or an earth-quake is going to hit!

Many active faults. No smell, water still tastes the same. Just can't get a cold drink anymore!

I don't suppose you're just north-east of Quincy by any chance?

I live in the Sierras about 100 miles north of Sacramento. The water from my well has turned hot

Check with your neighbors.

If their wells are normal, develop a spa on your land and run a bath for Hoss.

Any way to tell if the water level in your well has changed substantially?

Build a bomb and throw it into the well. I think that worked on Gilligan's Island.

Up around Quincy, are you? Sounds like some geothermal action, probably a rising magma or a crosslink with some geothermal water source.

Dangerous? I couldn't say, but sudden changes in well-water temperature are a matter of some concern. Any small earthquakes around there recently?

What you should do is take a coconut and cut it in half. Next, dress up like Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot, King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sovereign of all England. Then pretend you are riding a horse while your trusty servant Patsy bangs the coconut halves together.

Ride the length and breadth of the land around the water well and look for a grail. Once you find the grail your water will return to it's normal temp. I'm positive.

If you lived above Yellowstone I would have suggested running. Are there any volcanos nearby?

If I lived within 600 miles of Yellowstone an noticed something I would be running right now. Problem is you couldnt run far enough or fast enough.
