Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that this young girl is now safe ... we praise You for Your goodness and mercy to her and her family. You know each detail, O God ... I pray that You will lead this family through each circumstance, that they might gain strength in You, and in each other. In the Name of Jesus, I praise You for answered prayer, Amen ...

No problem, these stories affect me because my children were missing for 3 weeks a couple years ago. Their dad took them and hid with them.

I am a Clinton hater.

Missing Panhandle girl found after former co-worker questioned

Associated Press

NICEVILLE, Fla. - A missing 15-year-old was found Tuesday at a home in Troy, Ala., and police were trying to determine whether she had run away or been abducted.

An Amber Alert was issued for Janelle Angelea Adkins after her parents reported her missing from their home Monday in this Florida Panhandle city. They last saw her at the house about 10 hours earlier, police said.

Former co-worker Alex Gonzalez, 23, was detained in Slocomb, Ala., about 75 miles northeast of Niceville, and he told investigators where to find the girl, said police Lt. Jason Fulghum.

Janelle was in good condition with no injuries when she was found, Don McMullan of the Houston County, Ala., sheriff. She was being returned home Tuesday evening, he told the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Charges are pending and will depend on what the girl tells investigators when they have a chance to interview her, Fulghum said.

Investigators had suspected the case was a kidnapping because Adkins, a top student and soccer star at Rocky Bayou Christian School, has no history of running away, was not dressed for the cold night and left without her purse, cellular telephone and other personal items, Fulghum said. Gonzalez was "one of several boys I would say had a crush on Janelle," said the girl's father, Ed Adkins. Both worked at Tampico's, a Mexican restaurant in Niceville that burned down in September.

She apparently left her bedroom through a window after the screen had been cut, her father said. There were no signs of a struggle in the room.

An Amber Alert is designed to rapidly notify law enforcement agencies and the public of a missing child under 18 who may be in danger.

The alerts are issued to the news media and posted on highway signs. They are named after 9-year-old Amber Hagerman of Texas, who was abducted and killed in 1996.
