This article is from last November, but I didn't see it posted to the lists anywhere, so here it is now. I just received a call from the NRA which claimed that the supporters of this bill (all the usual suspects) are looking to get this to the floor of the Senate for a vote sometime this week. A very bad bill -- basically, a replay of McCain/Liberman's S. 890, which seeks to close down gun shows.

You have to love it -- the Republican-led Senate can't get S.659 (the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act") to the floor, but can find the time to hear this POS. Despicable. Somebody please remind me -- why did we work so hard to get the GOP in charge again?

Time to hit the phones and send those letters again, folks.

Why does McCain continue to call himself a republican?

"Why does McCain continue to call himself a republican?"

Good question! A better one is, "Why does the GOP allow McCain to call himself a Republican?"...

Well that one is actually easier to answer, because they've got too much money invested in him.

Sounds like the GOP spends too much money on damaged goods.

Why does McCain continue to call himself a republican?

I'm not really convinced that Republicans support gun-owner's rights much more than the Democrats. Call me cynical if you want, but I believe that almost everything either side does is in the interest of political expediency. That said, the elephants are still friendlier than the jack-asses.

"Time to hit the phones and send those letters again, folks."

We can't allow them to put another McCain -Feingold through on us! Write President Bush, and tell him not to let it happen again! I've already written one letter. Now I'm gonna write another!

How about "If GWB can increase social spending by zillions, and offer to sign an extension/enhancement of the AWBan, and offer amnesty to 12 million illegals.....then why CAN'T McCain be a Republican???"

Thanks for the ping. I wish Arizonans would do something about McCain. He should have been recalled over McCain-Feingold.

I assume the Reed in this bill is that commie, Jack "the Commie" Reed, D-Rogue's Island.

McManiac has no pride at all left, associating with Reed, Hillary's new pet flying monkey.

It's not over until it's over. Do you really want to kick McStain out of the Republican Party and hand over control to the dems. We're very close to having a Second Amendment majority in the Senate. Let's not throw it away.

Because he's a Republican, and that's all that matters. Ask any of the Republibots or Bushbots.
