I've noticed that "room for cream" has become the annoying "room" at starbucks. as in "do you want room?" are they getting lazier or am I become even even bigger conservative square?

I disagree. I don't think this is even, as you put it, mildly funny. It's pathetic. The quote I had in mind was: " Howard Dean can take his tax-hiking, government-expanding, latte-drinking, sushi-eating, Volvo-driving, New York Times-reading. ..." Here the wife continues "... body-piercing, Hollywood-loving, left-wing freak show back to Vermont where it belongs."
I like the quote--I think it's mildly amusing--and more amusing that he thinks he is parodying conservatives and putting them down when he parrots what they complain about--but really he repeats their points without realizing their accuracy. So that's what I saw in the article.
But there is plenty of stupid commentary accompanying this--and I was hoping for pithy, sharp put-downs by the FReep elite.

And what's with calling Ann Coulter "Eva Braun"? Oh, I'm sure that's a reference to Ann Coulter calling Katie Couric an "affable Eva Braun" to Bill Clinton's Hitler. It's a "right back at you", from someone who has trouble understanding Ann's point--that Katie admires Bill Clinton as Eva did Hitler.

Ach, ich verstehen now. I had forgotten about that Ann Coulter comment to Katie Couric.
I still don't find the commentary humorous. It certainly brought out some strange and slightly creepy responses.
