When you are an extremist and out of the mainstream, your optimal strategy is to minimize displeasure. You can never maximize pleasure. There is nothing you or anyone can do about it -- because it is the definition of the phrase political spectrum. A proud extremist I am!
However I like Clinton better. When his party was in control of the WH and Congress, Clinton still got his rectum handed to him in 1994. He never bothered to bring up the issue of Health Care again. Now we have a Republican President doing this with a republican congress! Yes, I will vote to minimize displeasure. I will do that by voting to bring us back to the days of good ol divided government. 2000 was the first election I was old enough to vote for president. I voted for Bush and have now learned from this youthful indiscretion. I will not make the same mistake twice.

I have yet to hear a politician make a campaign pledge designed on a program of more freedom. Three of them at the bottom of my profile page.
