I keep all that stuff that I find for ammunition. You and me both. The only candidate I don't have good information/files on is Clark, because he entered the race so late. But the search function has been a big help in fixing that this last week. LOL

onyx, the one who deserves the credit is George W. Bush. It's his character, courage and leadership which inspire us and keep us going.
I sense a fighting spirit rising up here on FR. I don't want to see another bloodletting like we saw during the recall election, but I think the so-called "Bushbots" have just about had it with the small-minded single-issue whiners -- those who can't see the big picture for their own bloated sense of self-importance -- and we're going to come to this President's defense whenever it's necessary. As Wolfstar so eloquently said, "...we had one shining, poised, genuine beam of light guiding us out of the dark. That beam of light was named George W. Bush. His tears were our tears; his anger, our anger; his resolve, our resolve. He lifted us up then. So I have no intention of abandoning him now, no matter what policy difference I might have with him." That was spot-on.

M2C, you said it beautifully. "He is a giant while everyone else is a pigmy." That, in my opinion, is part of the problem. Some people just think too small and/or too low to see beyond their narrow concerns. And, before someone misunderstands, I don't mean to say that an issue like illegal immigration is a narrow concern. Rather that some matters are so vast in importance that they even dwarf issues like immigration, prescription drugs, and such.
Hi, onyx. Good to "speak" with you today. I know what you mean about tearing up. What I've been seeing on these boards lately, while not unexpected, is deeply disturbing. Although I moved here to L.A. in 1976, my roots will always be in the New York metro area. The ground on which the WTC stood is ground I walked on countless times in my childhood and young adulthood, both before and after the towers were built. When the President went there the Friday after the attacks, climbed on that smoking pile and said: "I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who brought these buildings down will hear all of us soon," he spoke for me in the most personal way any President of the United States ever did.
Nothing else trumps that. Nothing.
We know we can be hit again anytime. That we haven't is a tribute to his leadership, of course, but even he knows the next attack could be just around the corner. Heck, he and his Laura have lived in a big white bullseye since 9/11. Yet he chooses to spend most of his time there. That anyone ANYONE calling themselves a Republican and/or conservative is capable of losing sight of this reality is just stunning to me.

They really are such vulgar hateful idiots over there.
They should be ashamed of themselves and embarrassed to expose their ignorance so blatantly.

"The above are exceptions to a recess nominee not being paid. Since his nomination is pending, I think he will be able to get paid.Thanks. Let's put this "no pay" theory to rest.
RE timing; yes it might steal some Iowa thunder, but it was above all the opening shot of another campaign issue. Look for more to come, either in this recess or in the next, which I believe is August.
It will be KILLER campaign issue when people realize the Senate Dems are responsible for judges who want to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance.

To: DrDeb
I'm sure the President wanted to both pre-empt Congress' return next week....
President Bush has to make the appointment before Congress comes back in session, ie, during the Recess.
He probably met with Judge Pickering when he was in New Orleans yesterday for a final agreement on going ahead with it. Hence, two more reasons why the announcement became a Friday afternoon surprise.

Great posts. I trust this President with my life and that of my family. The stakes are huge. We must work so hard to make sure he is reelected.
To: deport
During Pickering's nomination hearing, Republicans accused Democrats of being religiously biased against Bush's anti-abortion nominees, a theme they continued with Estrada and other Bush anti-abortion nominees. What a stupid, and poorly written sentence!!! BTW, I believe they are Judicial nominees, not anti-choice nominees.

Kerry, that despicable SOB, just said this about Judge Pickerint --- ".....a known forceful advocate for a cross-burner." Pickering ought to go after his butt for that one.

Did anyone see John
F@#$%^ Kerry on Fox News (Brit Hume's Special Report). That SCUMBAG said that Bush was disgraceful in appointing a cross-burning judge on MLK's birthday. What a jackass! Even Mort Kondracke and Juan Williams said he was over-the-top and unfair. They should have called him the liar that he is.

I don't know about "real" conservatives like you, KantianBurke, but I can never look at a photo like this and forget the overriding issue of our times. I can never forget this child's pain at the loss of her father on 9/11/01 or mine and I can never forget how President George Walker Bush held us all together. He shouldered his own pain, and that child's, and all of ours and he didn't let any of us falter. Now I don't know what issues will motivate your vote come November (and frankly I don't care), but I ask God every single day to keep me on the planet so I can cast my vote for my Dubya so there will not be other children who have to experience what this child did that deceptively pretty September morning.

Did you see Kerry(the new Iowa
"frontrunner") react to this??
Brit showed him attacking the
President for one day going to
MLK'S grave & the next day doing
a recess appointment of "a man
who's a defender of crossburning".
What do you think? Kerry lied. A
good opening for W?
To: Tempest
So you're saying that Foxnew's covering of Katherine Harris doesn't mean anything. Even though they were the only ones to do it. While both CNN and MSNBC were kissing MJ's ass?! So what makes the bias assclowns at CNN and MSNBC so much better you think?
LOL. Lighten up, Mr. Ailes, you're gonna have a coronary. If I watched TV news, which I don't any longer, I would watch Fox News . . . but simply saying they're the best of the worst doesn't make them pleasing enough for me to waste my time watching them -- although I do admit to watching Brit Hume now and again.
I never said CNN or MSNBC were better than Fox . . . you simply came to this thread with a pre-determined agenda spoiling for a fight. Read my posts again. See for yourself if I ever bragged on the "virtues" of CNN or MSNBC.
I prefer to get my news from Free Republic, that's all.

See my Post #512. If that child's face doesn't just tear the heart out of us all and renew our resolve to keep any of these weak-kneed Dems out of the presidency I don't know what ever will.

Pickering ought to go after his butt for that one. This is despicable, and the commie press will just let it slide. He,(Kerry) of course is pandering to the black voters with another lie, and he knows it.!!

I refuse to watch any of the Dems. Once they select their candidate, I'll have to pay attention. But until then, I'm sparing myself some angst. :-)

Sorry, but I don't share you interesting assessment at all. I too, am angry over amnesty. This, however, has been in the works for a long time and should have been done a year ago.
