I'd say "Shut up and sing" but her songs suck, too.

As a rule with this lot, "shut up and shut up."

"I don't think we've ever been regarded with as little esteem as we are nowWalk softly & carry a BIG FRIG'N STICK, Bonnie.Especially after 9/11.
What a great geo-political mind.....tell me again how many Doctorates she holds, please?

I love her voice, but when she gets onto politics she shows herself to be an ignoramus. Everything she says is either demonstrably false or wildly exaggerated, and you don't have to be a genius to see it (otherwise I wouldn't see it).

Aww, Bonnie.. My favorite female singer... Her version of Dylan's "Its all over now, Baby Blue" still gives me shivers.. Why do so many musicians do this?
Luckily, I can enjoy someone's music and ignore their politics (up to a point) otherwise, who would I be left with? Kiss and Ted Nugent? No thanks..
To: The Radical Capitalist
She's just parroting the move-on.org, DNC, Kennedy Enviro weenie talking points. How many celebs have uttered the following almost verbatim (sounds like a Martin Sheen broken record)
"Basically Congress has undone 20 years of environmental protection legislation, just slashed it.
...the computerised election machines are being bought by a company controlled by an out-and-out Republican contributor, so there is no way to get into the software to track whether there is fraud or fooling with election results...
Especially if you are only getting one political viewpoint and everyone else is considered unpatriotic."
"Don't forget Bush didn't win the election,"

Reminds me of the last time I saw her in the flesh - on the sidewalk along State Street in Madison, Wisconsin. I assume she was in town for a performance and I was startled to see her, in part for the celebrity buzz that was not a common experience in Madison - but also because of the incredible pale, drawn appearance she had. Sickly. She then did the Betty Ford thing - maybe she fell off the wagon, or maybe she maintained sobriety and just has so few properly functioning brain cells left...I guess it doesnt matter. She's just another blathering idiot now.

Wanda Jackson could kick her @ss.

Stop right now. You don't have to like her political views, but her talent is untouchable. I don't care who you are, or what your tastes in music are, Bonnie Raitt is a magnificent singer and songwriter. Why can't you people ever separate the artist and their talent? It just makes you look petty.

I dpn't worry about if people like us or not, as long as they know the results of their actions.
Nobody like the 1000 pound leader, but sh*t happens and someone has to lead.

She was only 42 in 1991? I thought she was 54 then.

Red Diaper Baby? Her father is John Raitt the famous stage star. Are you saying he was a Communist? If so, please show me proof. Thank you.

Once I purchased one of her CDs as I liked one of the songs. When I listened to the entire CD I found I only liked that song. This news gives me a reason to destroy the CD, which I will!

Why should the good people of New Zealand care what a dried up guitar hag thinks? I wonder... talking about US politics no less.
