One of the difficulties in converting established democrats is the fact that activists can quote stupidity like yours. It paints Republican's as pseudo David Dukes, just looking it for an excuse, and finding it in a democratic vote. Likely to strengthen their anti-Rep resolve, not make them join you.

I realize that wasn't your intent, but you might give it some thought, particularly if you're involved in persuading those of other persuasions to vote Republican. Your technique won't work.
