They echoed Osama bin Laden that the U.S. bestrides the world like a colossus. They told the Muslim street that the US giant is trying to re-arrange the world in its own interest. The U.S., they insisted, is controlled by Jews and Christians and wants to control the natural resources of the Muslim world. That's why, they said, Washington is sending troops to every corner of the globe and bombing Afghanistan and Iraq unilaterally. They brainwashed Muslims into believing that U.S. has put its weight behind Israel's "illegal military occupation" of the West Bank and Gaza.

It's hard to tell if the they refers to Islamists or the RATs.

Communal harmony and tranquillity did not suit Islamist agenda. They needed a polarized society to advance their programs. They required an environment of tension and hate in which American Muslims would feel insecure. Advocacy groups hoped to attract scared Muslims, looking for protection. This would have provided them with opportunities to recruit a good number of them for their extremist causes.

The operational theory for GWB's insipid Mullah-Hugging behavior is laid out here: Defang the Islamists with his compassionate motto "Take A Muslim to Lunch" or "Have you hugged a Muslim today?"

Although I would personally lay off this stuff, and continue to criticize it as Inappropriate Molly Coddling of Demanding Immigrants who should leave if they don't like us, I acknowledge the good intentions that GWB shows. And the appointment of CAIR's #1 nemesis to his advisory council...Daniel Pipes, shows us that GWB has not gone off the ranch completely...and where his heart actually resides.

With the domestic brouhaha brewing over illegals, it is worth noting that CAIR is in the ABB group.

Last night on Hardball, Bob Baer and Frank Gaffney were on for a too short segment; notable was Gaffney's closing comment to Baer's criticism about our softshoeing the Saudis - Gaffney said after Iraq, Saudi.

I would say it's MUCH more important to know such Muslims, the majority, are not technically muslims at all.

The quote actually implies they don't know how to read the Koran. If true, they may just have a chance at staying good too...(and remaining, technically, a pseudo-muslim.

I don't think OBL is as big a "figure" as he's been made out to be. He was influenced by some cleric; don't know which one. Ultimately, the faithful clerics are the sirens to these folks.

OBL just happened to be another figure that fell for the siren (and he happened to be very, very rich), then organized a bunch of others who did so as well. Until the Koran itself is properly discredited, the breeding pens for new OBLs will be active indeed.

We confess that mass murder in the attainment of the social state is perfectly moral.
