Dean bristled at that and said it was untrue. He said he had had "senior members" of his staff who were minorities, but Sharpton cut him off and said he was asking about his Cabinet, which has fewer members.
"No, we did not," conceded Dean, whose state has a population that is nearly 98 percent white.
Former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, who is African-American as it Sharpton, defended Dean. "Rev. Sharpton, the fact of the matter is we can always blow up a racial debate and make people mad at each other."
Ahhh, yes. Carol is finally doing the job the DNC intended for her, reign in the Rev. A counter-balance in case ol' Al finds an issue that that resonates with black voters that may weaken the Dems' annointed ability within that constituenct.
Why is she in the race?
No contributors.
Doesn't register in any major poll.
Doesn't give any position speeches.
But shows up at every debate and always admonishes the Rev.
Yep....she's there to dilute the black vote from Al and to keep him from embarrassing the field in South Carolina. (Which he will)
