It used to be "the huddled masses longing to be free" now it's the illegal masses looking for a handout

"My fashion house and perfumery, the House Of Carlo, where I designed personally for Joan Crawford..."

That's right. First Adrian, than you. LOL!

You are hilarious. Anybody who knows this material will be howling.

Name five top Hollywood designers. I bet you can't name any.

"I was born in 1941.."

So you started the House Of Carlo (LOL!) when you were 18?

Right.

Illegal Mexicans may be poor (not our fault), but they are hardly tired (they are hard workers), they sure aren't huddled masses and they don't live in a totalitarian state and are already free.

And even a few decades after the Statue of Liberty was erected we controlled the immigration levels and types we allowed in. These words don't equate to a come one, come all policy.

I don't believe these words were meant as an open door policy. Personally I would rather export our ideals and our democracy so we wouldn't need to have everyone coming here.

But at the same time, these sentiments are still honored in that we have all kinds of immigrants from recent vintages like Iraqis, Kurds, Iranians, Indians, Pakistanians, etc.

But these numbers are controllable. It's not like the 10 million just walking across the border.

Hey, I didn't bring up his bona fides.

But it's fine with me.

Let the record show that he didn't answer any of the questions, except with misrepresentations.

Just as a thought experiment, mind you, I suggest that everyone with time to kill do a Google search on the following items:

Empire Cruise Lines

Houston Turf Club

Club Internationale des Gourmets

House of Carlo Fashions

Chief Of Protocol for the State Of Texas

I think you will find they all share one thing in common. They are all conspicuous in their absence.

Same with all of the other Morelli enterprises, productions, publishing, etc.

Hey, I didn't bring up his bona fides.

Ah, but you did... you're the one who brought Carlo's bio and resumé here.

Perhaps we should ask JimRob who's got more credibility.

"Hey, I didn't bring up his bona fides."

"There are many things I don't know about Carlo's background (he's done so much in his lifetime it would be hard to discover them all in the limited time (3 1/2 years) I've known him), but one thing I DO know is his integrity. If he says he's done something, you can bet your life on it being true!"

You did.

You said his integrity can't be questioned--and when I did, you call for the authorities.

Google is pretty good, but doesn't go back to the '70s.

Again, give us YOUR credentials, you know so much.

It doesn't shake your blind faither that Carlo can't answer any of the very simple questions put to him?

How long does it take to look up the unions in question--even on Google? LOL!

"Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses longing to be free..."

Looks nice on a plaque, but never has been and never should be U.S. immigration policy.

History is replete with law breakers that did what turned out to be a blessing.

In the final tally, however, lawbreakers tend more frequently not to be blessings.

I stated that I knew his background and have no reason to doubt that it's true. I'm not the one who posted the resumé here...that was YOU!

My call to Jim was to verify that Carlo is who he says he is.

Carlo3b, this is a non-issue except for the usual folks that hit the site every election cycle. In 3 weeks it will no longer be a topic. Don't worry about it.

Here it is, Hon.

BTW, I googled, and I didn't find Hon listed.
