".In Nov. the 'verification hot-line' went nation wide for employers to verify SS #'s.....however the bill passed & was signed by GWB & it's set up to be VOLUNTARILY done."Yup, this was just a sign post for what lay ahead. Slow motion, incremental amnesty.
Of course, for those that are paying attention to Bush, this should be of no surprise. He'll pay heavily at the voting booth for even suggesting this.
That did it for me personally. No way am I going to become part this.

Well I guess you are just smarter than Laura Ingraham and me because I fail to see how rewarding criminality and failing to secure the borders is a "brainstorm." As long as the United States has a source of cheap labor from illegal aliens, American blue collar workers will never prosper and the drugs and criminals will continue to arrive unhindered. And those of us who pay taxes will have to continue to pay the astronomical costs attached to those illegal aliens for education of their children, welfare, food stamps, medical care, policing and incarceration. But you know it all and the rest of us are just idiots. yea right...And the day they hand you your pink slip and hire some illegal to do your job don't come crying to me. ROFLMAO

I've asked you once for a detailed explanation of how you'd secure the borders.
Do have any idea of how to do this, or are merely engaging in "against sin and favoring motherhood" rhetoric that isn't meant to be taken seriously?

Well if you would take the time to read my posts from yesterday, I revealed in detail how I would secure the border. I trust you are capable of reading and retention. So get busy reading. Quit bothering me with your lame attempt at sarcasm. And keep your inane remarks to yourself because no one else is interested in them.

I just took several seconds and found one poll out of Salt Lake City where it's *74%* are against Bush's plan, to 26% for.
Laughable.
Bingo!
And that is *exactly* the response I expected. This is the whole problem. The two beltway parties in DC are laughing at and completely ignoring the will of the people.
People like Loretta Sanchez, and you support this. That is very revealing Luis.
Gray Davis did exactly this by pandering to criminals among other things, and he swung from the political rope.
In a way I'm glad President Bush did this, as it no doubt opened many eyes and violently shook those that have been sleeping.

I read it.
Your Marines would never take vacation or get sick, I take it.
And there are plenty of places on the border where Humvees can't go, but people can.
BTW, the border patrol has more people up on the border right now than you propose having, and they can't stop the inflow of illegal aliens.
Care to try again?

There is a Grand Canyon's differences between can't and won't.
They CAN > > but they < < WON'T

Also yanking federal money from states in which the police refuse to cooperate and enforce immigration laws.

"Care to try again?" not really...If you are trying to compare 1500 United States Marines with a bunch of border patrol agents your ignorance is astounding. I was amused enough yesterday with you naysayers and baiters It's Friday and yours truly is going fishing...but maybe you can find someone else to bait into one of your lame arguments. Now I'm going to take my bait and go fishing. Cya

If you think that Marines have special magical powers, your ignorance is astounding.

By the way, even though I see builders in my community using tons of illegal labor to build new houses, I really don't see them discounting the prices of those houses...Excellent point. I strongly suspect we're not really getting anything cheaper as a result of illegal aliens.

So yes. Motor voting remains one of the low-risk options for illegal immigrants to cast bogus votes.
Times that by the 8 million that already here and the millions that will floor across the border in less than a year after this is made into law and you realize how throughly screwed over this country's taxpayers and future have been.

"Times that by the 8 million that already here and the millions that will floor across the border in less than a year after this is made into law and you realize how throughly screwed over this country's taxpayers and future have been." Granted. President Bush inherited a large portion of this mess from his predecessors who haven't bothered to even address it for over twenty years.
But instead of attacking the problem head on, it now appears he has surrendered to it.
Party split heading our way?

"OK. Your turn. Be specific: what should the Border Patrol be doing that they are not doing?" WHATEVER they are doing now, it is NOT working.
Common sense is not a player at the border. Political fortunes are at stake here, including George W. Bush's.
He had better wake up and smell the coffee yesterday morning or he is going to cause a party split like you have never seen.
Answer to your question:
Quit the political mamby-pamby bullshit over worrying about how many votes you are going to lose and get on with solving the border crisis!

Actually I think a major revolt might be a real possiblity in the near-future if this type of abuse on taxpayers continues.
To: Poohbah; kellynla
"If you think that Marines have special magical powers, your ignorance is astounding." Question: If President Bush had not announced his new illegal immigration initiative until NEXT WEEK, would the ill feelings now causing such slurs as those above be going on right now?
