Ouch! I say we all boycott lettuce (look, it has no taste anyway).

I agree Landru, this piece is almost too close for comfort. I was laughing, Just Piper, but it also made me uncomfortably edgy. Do you feel that way too?

"Think this is humorous? Sorry, I can't agree."

OK, then...it's sardonic. And it is *biting*.

"It's too close to the truth of our predicament, for my tastes."

Yes it is, and that's why the story makes the point so well, in my opinion. It would be ridiculous to open ones own home to criminals, but *that* as you and I know it, is what this amnesty deal does.

"...there's no humor in our destruction, a'tall."

No, of course I agree. But sometimes an absurd story like this is helpful to make a point to some of those that just don't get it. IE; El Rushbo, who uses absurdity all the time, to point out ridiculous things.

Take for example, my tagline: "...Please press 2 for English...for Espanol, please stay on the line..."
Now, that is the flip of what you hear when you call most business or government phone lines right now, but I'm trying to make a point with it, in a humorous way. It doesn't mean I don't understand the seriousness of the situation.

Good to hear from you, Lan. I hope things are going well.

"I agree Landru, this piece is almost too close for comfort."

Yup, akin to hearing the unmistakable, distinctive *pop* of a bullet passing close overhead.

"...but it also made me uncomfortably edgy. Do you feel that way too?"

You're surely not alone, Ms.Nardo.
What I'm afraid you, I, & a handful of others -- apparently -- are though, on this subject at any rate.

...is a minority.
