Answer: November.

Yep, Bush with 2 million popular vote spread and 320 electoral college win. Who the heck do you think you are scaring? LOL

Yep, it'll wipe that smirk right off Rove's face and put in on Bin Laden's.

Nice try, but no cigar.

In the insurance sales trade, that's known as "rolling out the casket", to try to scare the mark into forking out for the policy. It's also a sign of desperation, and not rolled out until all normal attempts at a close have failed.

In other words, thank you for the "tell."

Much like the homosexual activists are to the Democratic Party, which learned they are not very loyal constituents, either.

The same could be said for hispanics after the first blanket amnesty --- they once were strongly in the Republican camp --- but after that 80's amnesty they went strongly in the democrat direction --- so much that 80% voted for Clinton. Not very loyal after all that amnesty pandering the Republicans did for them.

Please, don't insult my intelligence, it takes less steps than that to quit a bad heroin habit.

LOL! Now I feel stupid for advising Tooth to combine his 18 point initiative with harpseal's 13 point "end outsourcing/free trade" program to make a 31 point "Make the World Go Away" superdooperpooper program.

I'm absolutely not going through THAT again, it wrecked my schedule for weeks. I spent way too much time standing outside City Hall carrying a Bush-Cheney sign the last time, someone else's turn.

Provide evidence of this "base" that you keep touting. Is it the same "base" that voted for Perot in 92? Is it the same "base" that sat at home in 96?. Is it the same 2 million vote "base" that voted either 3rd party or sat at home in 2000? If that is the "base" then that "base" was written off 3 years ago. There is a new "base" in town and it ain't the ones you are talking about. A "base" whose only function is to lose elections is not a "base" it is a liability.

Please, if you must flog that strawman, have the decency to do it in the privacy of your own home, OK?

I, like so many of the other posters you've been attacking, have been a "broken glass Republican" for decades. I pleaded with people not to waste a vote on Perot, who was far worse than a mere spoiler.

I resent your accusations, and I resent your attacks. Your little cabal likes to issue taunts about "purity tests" that the base -- in scare quotes, when you type it -- demand of their candidates.

Well, frankly, the only "purity tests" I see in these parts are from you and your small group of sycophants who will not tolerate the slightest bit of disagreement with your idea of the correct agenda.

I would be very interested in where you get your facts to back that up.

Plus, you have to be up to be certified in CPR to work ... or visit ... Palm Beach County. They drop like flies.

But that's the thing. Only liberal newspapers and apoplectic jingoists are claiming that the motivations of President Bush are to pander to voters rather than proposing what is in the best interests of the nation.

No --- I've seen people on here --- at least I think they're not liberals explain that Bush must work on the hispanic vote --- he's got to gain more of it. What I don't get --- that vote once was strongly Republican and now it isn't. The 80's amnesty did nothing to make it more Republican.

No, you have real life confused with that Seinfeld episode where Elaine brought Frank to bust her Korean manicurists.

Oh, I'm sorry, I don't watch television other than Fox News and the local news/weather.

So, I have no idea what you're raving about, you little anklebiter, you.

Here's a clue Joe, the "base" is NOT the narrowest point of the pyramid.

"But it's not a reward. Giving them citizenship ahead of all those people trying to get in legally would be a reward"

The people waiting in line, filling out paper work to become naturalized citizens are not the problem because they are going through the proper process. It's the illegals who are already here that Pres Bush is addressing in his proposal. Therefore, it will be the illegals who are rewarded while those waiting in line, are going "what-the__????".

I am somewhat ruffled by this plan, but do want to read it in its entirety and mull it over and see if there's any logic to his new proposal that our existing INS laws could have addressed had they been enofrced all these years.

Can you sit up and take nourishment?

On second thought, Don ... I'll bet people ARE talking about you.

I'll just say this though --- there is a side of me that thinks this might be a political move by Bush --- maybe even a smart one. It's going to fall onto Congress to put into place or not --- I'm not sure what that accomplishes for Bush --- but maybe there is something.

The other thing --- this would be a way to really go after those illegals who try to bypass his blue card --- hunt them down --- but I'm not sure how I'd like to see them hunted down. Leave out door to door searches, road blocks and pulling people off their tractors to check if they got a blue card ---- we don't need that.

I will have to defer to your expertise in such matters.

...

By the time we get to step two, the ten million existing illegal immigrants, will have forty two million American grandkids.

By the time President Rove is finished with us, a mere forty two million illegal "American" grandkids would seem like the good old days, before we got really swamped with uncontrolled immigration.
