The correct salutation, according to miss manners is to call him President Bush or Mr. President..
not Mr. bush. Maybe writers can get away with this but it doesnt show respect.
voters have an option to choose who to vote for but the title is given to the reigning president. NOT THE X. he again is Mr. clinton Or General whoever.
Its out of respect which the Dems dont have.

In official settings, I've always called him "Mr. Clinton".
