Under Governor Dean, Vermont ranked near the top of the nation in rate of abortion.

It averaged 359 abortions for every 1,000 live births in 1992.

How do you DO that????? I could believe 3.59, or 35.9, but better than a third? The mind staggers to think of how many innocent girls must have been getting knocked up, to achieve such a ghastly harvest for the grim reaper.

In NYC, the abortion capitol of America, there are some districts where abortions exceed live births.

I wasn't laughing when, after 9/11, Pat Robertson suggested that God had lifted his protection of this land. Sodom and Gomorrah wasn't this bad.

I'm willing to climb out on my limb, with saw in hand,, and flat-out predict that Dean is lying, that he did in fact do abortions, and that corroborating witnesses will come forward to say he did..Probably, they have the info now, the problem is that all of the Dems are so tied to the pro-choice lobby, that if the leak comes back to their campaign , it's the kiss of death...so, the disclosures are going to come from some way out place....the GOP , I believe, has the same info, but ther don't want to sue it YET..why shoot your enemy when he's busy committing suicede...

and consider that Vermont is a rural largely white state, and most such states have low abortion rates.

What a dream it would be if the abortion rate was so low as 3.5 or 35 for every thousand live births. So many fewer babies would die, and women who sought abortions would indeed be aberrations, and the country would at last have the will to criminalize abortion again, and reduce the rates yet further.

I don't know if at any time in America's history the rate has ever been as low as 3%.
