There is no such thing as an average. Each is special in its own way.

That comment was made by the "expert" after the shoe bomber case broke. There are threads on FR that include the details but I don't know if it had it's own thread.

The grenade relies on shrapnel to kill (except, of course, for direct hits). However, in an airplane, especially more than 10,000 feet up, the pressure inside is substantially more than the pressure outside. The shockwave from high explosives would be the thing that rips a BIG hole in the airplane. Good point. That's outside the realm of my experience, however, but it sounds reasonable. I was thinking about the immediate effect of the round itself, but I suppose there are other considerations that would amplify the effect.

We should not be asking for the rest of the parts needed to do this deed. It is logical Physics to say the least.

At 35,000 feet 6 ozs placed in the correct location is all that is needed.

She will need stamina to handle 72 men!
The 9/11 hijackers had to shave down like swimmers to be clean. They should be tracking Gillette sales at the Tora Bora 7-11.
>>>Virgin status and stamina, as per the scriptures of the Koran.
The rumor that the TSA and Department of Homeland Security are considering the establishment of a new airport security agency called the Tactical Women's Alert Team is completely false.

To: Aliska
Aliska asks: "
Can 8 to 12 oz bring down a plane?"
The investigation into the 1988 downing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, concluded that it was blown out of the skies by the detonation of only 12 oz of Semtex-H hidden in a Toshiba radio planted alongside the inner aircraft hull.
That may seem like a small amount of explosive, but keep in mind that Semtex-H is a hybrid compounded of approximately equal parts of two of the most violent high explosives man can make. Making matters worse, the cabin pressurization already exerts an outward force of approximately half a ton on each square foot of the plane's skin, while it flies through the thin atmosphere of flight altitudes.
