Najmabad looks like it is about 200 miles west of the city of Herat in Afghanistan. On my Encyclopedia Britannica map the closest city in Iran is Ferdows. If he is here he is about 100 miles from the Afghanistan border and lot further away from Pakistan. This is in the eastern part of Iran well away from Iraq.

That would be true irony. To have him collapse into the wrath of a moving world in one of his new hiding places's worst disasters short of Saddam's WMD attack.
