Thanks for resurrecting and posting this.

Old news is often very valid history. Valid history that many Americans are not aware of. In this case due to the massive amount of money spent by the Saudie PR to buy out American Media, Americans, the state department and other federal departments, the real history has been subverted by the Opecker Petro Blood $'s.

A great VDH blast from the past.

As I was reading this, Mark Belling(sp?) -- today's Rush sub -- was talking about Al-Qaeda trying to topple the SA monarchy.

Hmm, another Stalingrad scenario. Let's hope they can both lose somehow.

In an ancient Life magazine article, late 50s, an interview with the King of Saudi Arabia, his contempt for the West was clear. In fact, his contempt for ordinary people who were not wealthy kings was fairly clear. It seemed that money made him superior. He did not need to consider anyone's feelings or rights. What would happen when he ran out of oil was also beyond consideration.

After living there many years, I find nothing to reccommend the place. Hanson is spot on. If anything he understates the case. Nepotism and general corruption are the norms. It's every bit as bad as Mexico (or worse), but made worse by the religious pretense. I'd be the first to admit that there are many Saudis who are honest, trustworthy, etc. The problem is. they are in the extreme minority. The hand writing is definity on the wall for the House of Saud. The day will come when they will be seeking refuge somewhere else...if any survive.
