The nuclear storage area at nearby Nellis Air Force Base might be an interesting target. Or it might not be.

There've been as many as 200 warheads in storage there at one time. But there might not be any there now.

If this is a dry run or rehearsal for a LAX-bound flight's hijacking, I can certainly think of a better target.

Isn't "French intelligence" an oxymoron?

You familiar with the activities of SDECE and Le Barbouzes during the Algerian War/ OAS difficulties that included at least a dozen attempts on De Gaulle's life? That was a while back, but they've got both their reputation to maintain and a certain body of precwedent to follow as a result. I'd certainly not care to have them upset at me while I was in their back yard.

Just use a globe and a string from point to point and you will see that the flight path, will pass thou Las Vegas from france--not rocket science!!

Sure, all they would have to do was just punch in the coordinates of Rose Bowl Stadium or whatever targt they have in mind into the autopilot GPS system, and that would set the plane's course heading in the straightline direction of the coordinates entered into the GPS, even with the radios and navigation equipment turned off. Sound familiar?

In all seriousness, what is there in Vegas that a plane can purposely hit? And just how crowded is Vegas at this time of year?

The strip will be absolutely jam-packed at 12:00 - the figure I heard was around 250,000 people.

Lots of big hotels, the Hoover Dam, stuff like that are in and around Las Vegas. It's great. You should go there sometime. But seriously, they could go for the Hoover Dam and cut off electricity out there and worse. Or, they could go to Prrrrrrumph, NV.

I think Tom Ridge is being prepped for moving up in the RNC but is fine as Homeland Security Chief. Just an observation. How are ya cyberant? I'm fine here in Florida. Brother says it was snowing yesterday in Vegas. That was more newsworthy to the Vegans as of yesterday. I believe NV is also a mad cow state meat recall too. For once, the news isn't from Florida.
