I think it will be worth to hear Billy Boy say "It depends on what the word terrorist means."

After-action reviews are always notoriously critical.

Since it is impossible to recreate the pre-9/11 situation, then it is impossible to do more than make suggestions about what are now known to be errors.

Likewise, on Sunday the San Francisco running back fumbled the ball several times and granted the Cincinnati Bengals opportunity to win which they took advantage of.

It's fairly easy after the game to say: "On reviewing the tape we've determined that these fumbles were entirely preventable."

Well, duh.

I can tell you right now that a terrorist could take an aerosol can of anthrax, the size of a deodorant spray can, into the Rose Bowl and with a stiff wind spray it on a whole section of people.

That's written. Got it.

Now, if that ever happens in ANY capacity at any event, then a commission would say, "It's been mentioned, therefore, it was preventable."

Not true.

The authorities have X amount of dollars to work with and assign those dollars for prevention BEGINNING with their determination of the most probable avenues of attack. Changes to some systems would be so costly that they are nixed because of the additional cost burden they place on the system or the particular industry in question.

Wonder if he will have any comments about the 9th Circuit Court deciding that helping terrorists is not a crime.

There are various groups hysterical every day because of the Patriot Act and how he can reconcile arresting people that have committed no crime.

Clearly the left is out to get Condi Rice dirtied up so she cannot run for president.

And yes, I consider Kean part of the left.

Kean promises major revelations in public testimony beginning next month from top officials in the FBI, CIA, Defense Department, National Security Agency and, maybe, President Bush and former President Clinton.

Kean is delusional if he thinks he's going to get any major revelations out of the prevaricating and dissembling Clinton.

All RINO's have one common trait: a pathological need to be liked by the press, and hence a pronounced tendency to grandstand and puff themselves up. Arlen Specter does it all the time. So Kane is going to do everything he can to make himself into an ex post facto hero, i.e., "None of this would have happened if I'd been in charge." And it's all bullsh*t. The kind of political correctness and soft-headed mushiness that prevailed pre-9/11 is exactly the sort of thing you would expect from a RINO. No RINO ever believes that America faces a serious external threat; they are more concerned about the religious right.

I believe that this is criticism of Condoleeza Rice, and George Tenet. They should have known, and probably did. Of course there is the possibility that they are stupid or incompetent. Of the two choices, I would vote for the last. They should have both lost their jobs, if only because someone has to. It is the same way with football coaches, if they cannot get the job done.........without excuses, they are in the wrong business.

Kean brings up some good points, especially about the warnings that were clearly ignored about the pilot training, but the FBI and the CIA are not the same thing as the Bush administration. Most of those employees were there well before he ever took office.

Yes, the 9/11 attack was preventable.

If Clinton had nabbed Bin Laden when he had the chance, it wouldn't have happened.

"For the first time, the chairman of the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks is saying publicly that 9/11 could have and should have been prevented, reports CBS News Correspondent Randall Pinkston."

He's right! If Clinton had taken the Pakistani government up on it's offer, and taken Osama bin Laden into custody when it was offered-- 9/11 could have been prevented.

You can't get some people to believe in 9/11 now! How could you get anyone to believe it if had not happened yet? The ACLU would have had a field day, in fact the ACLU and others are still bitching about anti-terror measures.

I AGREE. It WAS preventable.

If only we had IMPEACHED Clinton in 1998, and then held Al Gore's feet to the fire, we could have prevented AlQaida from gaining strength and PLANNING this attack during the Democrat's watch.

You don't suppose .. do you .. that this could be another rope-a-dope ..?? I mean I really thought this might be something worrisome for Bush .. but after listening to Rush today, I have kinda changed my mind about that.

I know the dems will try to make a BIG issue out of this .. especially because Hillary's goons will be all over TV making hay out of it. I know she's willing to do anything to make it appear her husband was not responsible for 9-11.

I just can't help but wonder if Kean is baiting these people ..??

""There are people that, if I was doing the job, would certainly not be in the position they were in at that time because they failed. They simply failed," Kean said. "

Let's see, Frank Church is out of the Senate, Toricelli was canned, still have to get rid of Clinton-holdover George Tenet. Could you help us out by naming names and being specific, Governor Kean? Or are you gonna put your pol good-old-boy network ahead of your nation?

I remember Ollie North stating in the Iran Contra hearings that the most dangerous man on planet earth was Osama Bin Laden. This was in the late 80's. Maybe we can blame Ronald Reagon for this attack? Surely Bill Clinton has to accept some blame in allowing this man to run free. I believe the attacks were planned under his watch. Osama did not plan this in the 8 months that Bush was in office. I believe the majority of blame lies at the feet of Bill Clinton and his failed administration. I thought Hillary was the most intelligent woman on the planet, she did not see this coming?

911 was preventable. If flt attendants had been apprised of the threat in the months and weeks before sept 11, MANY of us could have provided info of the individuals and teams of middle eastern men who were crisscrossing the country on our airplanes and in our cockpits in preparation for the big day. I myself had 4 of the hijackers on 2 flts that I worked. Early 2000, I had a lengthy conversation with Marwan Alsheihi as he and his travel companion sat across from my jumpseat. Among many things he told me that they were headed to soutern Fla. to become pilots. His friend sat silent and stony-faced. Yes, it was Atta.
