I love this: "One year ago, the Security Council was divided between those who wanted to appease Saddam Hussein and those who wanted to hold him accountable," Zebari told the 15-nation council"

"In a pointed address delivered with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on hand, Hoshyar Zebari said the United Nations had failed to stand up to Saddam to defend the Iraqi people, and called for a swift UN return to the country."The craven UN decision will be carved into Iraqi history forever. So be it.

The U.N. is filled with America-hating, liberty-hating cowards. They make me sick to my stomach. These are the people that the RAT presidential candidates, hillary and the media want us to hand Iraq over to...totally insane idea.

What a good slam that guy gave the UN Secretary. Tis easy to dish out, but often hard to take it when you´have been wrong.

The UN as an organisation failed to help rescue the Iraqi people from a murderous tyranny of 35 years," he said. "The UN must not fail the Iraqi people again." Way to go, Zebari -- it's not before time to make those baseturds squirm for their cowardice and deceit!

Annan said, ""So quite honestly I don't think today is the time to hurl accusations."
He don't think anytime is the right time. But the Iraqi is correct. For decades the UN did nothing.
They never saw a dictator they didn't prefer.

"The fact that the war was won doesn't make legitimate something that was not legitimate," France's UN ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sabliere said after the council meeting. "But this is the past." I have heard this before so let's change a few words.
"The fact that the election was won doesn't make legitimate something that was not legitimate," Howard Dean said to Al Gore during a campaign speech last week. "But this is the past."
Communist/Socialist are all the same in a way...

Ole Coffee Anna hates it when the truth is put in front of him. The League of Nations fell by the wayside as a toothless debating society. The UN should do the honorable thing and dissolve itself, join the dustbin of history with the League.

Fat chance the UN should even have a role at all in Iraq in the first place. But the Democrats seem convinced the last people to be trusted with a role in rebuilding their own country are the Iraqis! Imagine that... and btw, with all due insult to the sniveling Frogs, I can't for the life of me see a more just and necessary war then the one our country fought this year in Iraq. Nikita Dean and the Eight Democratic Dwarfs should really be running for President Of France... ;-)

Kofi says: In taking the difficult decisions that lie ahead, I need to weigh the degree of risk that the United Nations is being asked to accept against the substance of the role we are being asked to fulfill, he said.
Translation: If we can't rob the people of Iraq blind like we did when Saddam was our man, then we won't do a damn thing!

"I think the UN has done as much as it can for Iraq," Annan told reporters. Better tell that to the Demo presidential candidates. Out of the mouth of Kofi, no less.
Sounds like he's not gonna give up those Oil for Food revenues easily either. It would serve this Iraqi well to claim that money, demand it immediately.

And the UN/MEDIA has tried to spin this into an unjust/just war dichotomy.

"We need much greater clarity on what is expected of the United Nations by Iraqis and by the coalition ..." Annan told the council. They may be unclear about what needs to be done, but they sure want to be in charge of doing it!
