" Maybe Chairman of the DNC which Dean could deliver if nominated."
Excellent analysis, Mike. That way he actually gets something that his to his benifit right away, gets rid of McAuliff, put's him in a position where he can lay broadside after broadside on his arch nemisis the Clintons, and gives him the requisite visibility for a run in 2008 if Dean loses.
Furthermore, when and if Dean loses, he'll still be there and has the stature amoung Democrats to keep the Clintons from retaking the party machine.
Makes you think Gore's not so stupid after all.

I don't think Gore's endorsement of Dean was an endorsement for President, but an endorsement against Clinton control of the DNC. The dems are running a backwards race right now--they're battling for control of their party and that has to be resolved before they can battle for control of the country. This should get interesting now that Gore has made the battle public. I expect Bill, Hill, & McAwful to do likewise anytime now. Grab some popcorn cuz you don't wanna miss this!
