A caller asked Rush today if he thought this ruling would affect Rush and other conservative talk show hosts. Rush said he assumes the liberals would try and restrict his right to comment on the election during the critical few weeks ahead of the election but they would fight any such order. Bush signing this bill into law was a big mistake. I am sure he assumed that the USSC would rule the most onerous parts of it illegal. There is a lesson to be learned here.

The lesson to be learned is: ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING. If it was unconstitutional and your duty is to uphold the Constitution, then fight against it tooth and nail. Damn the political consequences - you get the power in order to have the *right* to do the right thing. Time and again, the Bush admin has done the politically expedient thing and it turned out to be a trick cigar for them (steel tariffs for one, and I suspect medicare is another one). Lots of carpet messes to clean up when you do that.

Just do the right thing, and let the chips fall where they may.

I hardly know whether to cry over the front to The Constitution, or laugh over the corner the 'Rats have painted themselves into.

There is a delicious irony here. The little 'Ratlings (sheeple) actually believe that the Republicans are the party of "big money" and "corporate cronyism," whereas in fact it is the 'Rats who are (comparatively) much more dependent on big money donors and corporate patronage.

The 'Rats have fallen in to the trap of believing their own lies!
