Sure, and the parents can complain to the schools, and get it removed from the book lists, if they try hard enough.
The children belong to the parents.

There is plenty of wonderful writing from American authors. Toni Morrison is a hack; but since she is black, she gets a pass.

wrote any rape scenes, but his big evil bad guy (the Mule) lost because The Mule lost because he was set up in a trap by the Second Foundation. The femal lead during that part of the Foundation storyline was terrified of the Mule. He intimated to her that he could use his mind control powers to make her have sex with him and enjoy it.
She was only nice to him while he was playing the role of jester. Once he was exposed as the mule, the niceness went out the window.

If this book is anythink like her book Sula, which I was required to read in a college lit course, I don't think it belongs anywhere near children. Or adults for that matter. Parakeets, maybe, or puppies being housebroken.
