I guess you could say that he gave her the business.

The day my ex left town, I was in bankruptcy court and he was in a brand new Corvette. Still haven't figured that one out.

Yep, and to top it off, he died last year on the streets of Reno, a troll. Unbelievable. Boy, do I know how to pick 'em.
LOL!

How do we know that this isn't just another scheme by the couple to bilk their creditors out of money rightfully owed to them?
The woman benefitted (and probably quite well) from her husband's company, demanded it in court, and now that she has it, she no longer wants responsibility for it.
This doesn't pass the smell test. There's no reason to believe she is not trying to scam the court and her creditors.

Of course there is good reason. She testified under oath, didn't she?

Was the article posted solely for its male-bashing or is it "news" because women so seldom get the short end of the stick in divorce court?
Does this one seemingly obviously bad man make all women "victims" as the radical feminists would have us believe.
"Nothing to see here folks - lets just move along."

Reminds me of my ex. He quit paying the second mortgage without filing bankruptcy like he said he would. I was paying the first mortgage. When the bank called saying that I owed several thousand dollars, I realized what he had done. After the second mortgage began foreclosure proceedings, he filed...by himself. His 3 kids still at home and I almost became homeless.
Yeah, he gave her the business. Hope she can get out of that mess.

Did you sleep through 1998? The truth in court now depends on what the meaning of "is" is, which apparently is still yet to be settled. Too many people these days have too little fear of God for the swearing of an oath (especially in the case of a divorcee, who by definition has already broken at least one major oath before God).

he died last year on the streets of Reno, a troll. Was he dressed up as a milkshake? I saw an episode of Reno 911 where the cops beat up a guy dressed as a milkshake, maybe even killed him. Nobody seemed to care though.... I guess he must have been a vanilla shake.

Was the article posted solely for its male-bashing or is it "news" because women so seldom get the short end of the stick in divorce court? Male bashing? How is consumer fraud male bashing? This guy ripped off a lot of people and left his wife holding the bag. I sure hope you don't think that kind of behavior is a good thing. That guy belongs in jail. My mother got ripped off by contractors. It wasn't funny.
Hopefully creditors will see the article and won't bother coming after Donna Pilcher anymore.

You do know what the difference is between a porcupine and a corvette?

I don't know if you are bitter from personal experience or just in general, but this is not true. Women almost always get the short end of the stick. Yeah, the men have to pay a bit, but look at the figures... women end up at the poverty level because the men don't pay enough and they don't help with the kids and they usually make more.
Selfish men shouldn't leave their wives if they don't want to pay for it, and I'm hoping that they have to pay more.. at least half of their income SHOULD go to their real families.
Granted that if the wife leaves the situation should be the same, reversed. I think whoever cheats, leaves or abuses should have to pay out the nose, forever.

Women initiate the vast majority of divorce actions since, given the open gender-bias common in the so-called "family" Courts, they obviously have the most likely probability of financial gain.
As for the "women as victims" stats you refered to, I'll be certain to check them out next time I visit NOW's website.
Most conservatives have figured out that promoting gender-based hatred between men and women long ago replaced race as the left's first weapon of choice to advance its agenda.

If the husband misrepresented the status of the company that can be used to undo that portion of the settlement. The company must still have value. A Ch 11 reorganization may be in order.
There is more to this than meets the eye.
To: longtermmemmory
Todd Pilcher has been in business in this area for a long time but the part I don't understand is why home owners would pay him up front for work to be done.
If a company is going to do some work for me and wants to be paid before the work is done, I'm going to be looking for someone else to do it.
This story is ongoing and the last I heard prior to this was that he was calling individual home owners promising them that they would be repayed.
I don't know if he was purposly trying to stiff his wife or not.
