No. I'm not a single- issue person. Just don't piss me off on too many issues, especially those I consider more important.;-)

Thank you for this religion-101 discussion. As I said, we can go on and on. But let us stop at this.

Best regards

All evangelicals, especially the knuckle dragging fried okra type. It is like 90% OT to 10% NT. On the other hand, Catholics use 95% NT, and 5% OT!

Not true. I grew up in what you would term a knuckle dragging Church, legalistic to the extreme. They used the NT to the extreme not the OT.

No musical instruments allowed in the Church because even though they are mentioned in the OT there is no mention of musical instrument in the new, this went on and on and on...

What demonation do you mean by your reply because I was very intrested in all of the Christian demonations and their differences at one time and have not noticed excessive use of the OT in the evangelical Churches. Maybe I missed something.

If you know one, please tell me. Is it the same reason that Christian countries use them?

Coats of arms of Majority Christian countries depictiing Weapons:
Finland
Monaco
Netherlands
Norway
Angola
Burundi
Ghana
Kenya
Mozambique
Congo-Kinshasa
Guatemala
Haiti
United States
Tonga

Do you want to explain the meaning? Is there one? Is it that Christianity is an inherently violent religion?

Didn't Yigal Amir use some weird scriptural misinterpretation to justify murdering Rabin?

I honestly have know idea, I have not looked into the subject matter. The importance of this is????

That murder and violence in the name of religion can be twisted to fit any religion (Amir is Jewish), even ones you think are "safe"

Dear Lady Heron, forgive the expression knucle dragging fried okra.We are all Christians and it was unfortunate for me to use such a term. I was simply frustrated with how Christians in the U.S., as well as Europe do not take Christ seriously as they used to in the old days. For example, Mel Gibson made a movie about Jesus passion, according to our bible, and was faced with considerable hate, and threats to ruin his future. I have never scene a sense of outrage from the Christians or a call for the Christians to go and see this movie a couple of times to set a new earning record, which would send the message to the haters not to mess with the Christian faith.

I observed that the evangelicals-born again type are more concern about other trivial issues, such as prayers in school, or the ten commandments placement on the court house! Again, I wish for all Christians to emulate Jesus life of love and forgiveness, meekness, and to the extreme example of SELL ALL YOU HAVE, GIVE THE MONEY TO THE POOR! When did you ever hear a minister preach about that? They are all (meaning the TV evangelists) wearing gold Rolexes, and driving the fanciest cars. Your individual experience in an evangelical small church may be true good experience, or even more focused on the NT as you indicated, however, that could be rare case. The overwhelming majority of my observations illustrates otherwise.

Best regards
