You cannot change a headline or the content of the article. That's like, you know, painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa!!

I think one of the guidelines is that posters shouldn't change headlines of articles. This is so others won't post duplicates when they go searching to see if it's already been posted.

One way to work with this is to post like this:

Original title on article (brief comment in parentheses)

I just posted my own story on the leftwing indymedia.org site and how they are going crazy today. The moderator pulled the aricle from being displayed only after a couple minutes. The amount of editorial control has gone to far and this site is anything but free(republic).

I have also found that individual newspapers edit head lines of articles they get from A.P., Reuters etc. It may be the same article with a completely different head line.
