"When you're making a hundred thousand or less, and you've got a family of four, and you're struggling with car payments, house payments, tuition, clothing, and sickness, you're only - much of America is sort of one family emergency away from no savings and bankruptcy."

The candidate has met privately with Hollywood heavyweights like Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, and celebrities like actor Ed Norton and REM singer Michael Stipe attended a recent Manhattan fundraiser
J Lo is a HEAVYWEIGHT in the buttee. Madonna and Ed Norton are not heavyweights in the brains or buttee department. I have never heard of Michael Stipe.... but I have heard of that OLD has been band REM.....

Question:
Could a true Republican candidate go to Hollywood and pretend to listen to their sh*t and garner their support?
Because Clark WAS a Repubbie until just recently......

I am normaly a big supporter of our military. However, when I think about how Clark managed to get 4 stars and the power that goes with it, it scares me. At one time, this guy controlled a lot of military force. Scary.

He had help.

"According to retired Gen. Wesley Clark, when a jet takes off from an aircraft carrier, it "sags" towards the ocean as the pilot hits the afterburner." Another baldface lie from the Clark campaign. Afterburners are selected before the aircraft begins it's catapult cycle, NOT after it leaves the deck. The aircraft sags until enough air is collected under the wing to generate lift.
So, Clark's metaphore fails on it's face, as any Navy or Marine pilot who lit burners after the Cat cycle would never get launched, or if they did through dozens of failures of the deck crew, would lose his wings were he to survive to make it back.
Were I back on the fantail doing my LSO duties, my call for Clark would be "Eject, Eject, EJECT!!
He is going down.

During WWII, Torcy, the nom-de-guerre of Charles de Gaulle' aide, was asked by British principles:
"What are the General's ideas?"
"Ideas? Why he has none."
"What? We meant his political doctrine."
"He has none. His ambition -- we know what his ambition is. But his ideas? None." (See Robert Mengin, "No Laurels for de Gaulle")
Does this sound familiar?

"According to retired Gen. Wesley Clark, when a jet takes off from an aircraft carrier, it "sags" towards the ocean as the pilot hits the afterburner" So the perfumed prince is now a tailhook wannabee? In fact, his campaign just took a cold cat shot, both burners blew out 500 yards off the bow and the nozzles are stuck open. He is sagging real pretty, yes indeed. Since his seat pins are still in, [Hillary was his plane captain]he ain't shelling out and he WILL be run over by the boat. Next [Democrat]candidate.

Here comes the full Clintonoid/Hollywood/media onslaught to try and stop a Dean debacle. It's gonna be WesleyVision on our TV sets from now on.

The aircraft sags until enough air is collected under the wing to generate lift. Don't you mean it sags until enough air flows over the wings to generate lift?

[Hillary was his plane captain]As a former plane captain, I will resent that comment when I quit laughing. Otherwise, ok, 2.

No, I do not. The overwing air is there. Most carrier aircraft can fly at lower speeds than they get from the Cat shot, but at a much higher Alpha. Being held down to the carrier during the launch prevents the necessary rotation to that Alpha until the aircraft leaves the deck.
The underwing pressure differential is what is missing. Turbulent air is caught between the wing and the flight deck during the cycle which does not contribute to the pressure differential. The difference between the two is what causes lift. At the high Alpha of a Cat launch, the underwing air is more important. The change occurs when there is no flightdeck in the way. Think ground-effect in reverse.

Generals are often selected by politicians, especially 4 star generals. It is a very political enviornment at the top. We lucked out big time with Tommy Franks and Scotty Wallace.

This nitwit is flying in the fog inverted, this alleged leader makes a mockery of his prior position, he is acting like wuss, I guess a trait he learned from the ex scumbag in chief.

Obviously the guy has never seen footage of a TARPS bird taking off where the pilot forgot to click in some nose down trim. Yuck, Yuck.

We lucked out big time with Tommy Franks and Scotty Wallace. Amen. Favourite picture of Franks. He's at Bagram with two friends of mine. They are all wearing the black fleece jacket as an outer garment (makes perfect sense, so it is forbidden by the garrison wallahs). They pose for a picture, the three of them -- a general and two NCOs -- with a sign that says ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK FLEECE JACKETS WILL BE WORN (or words to the effect).
The photo was Franks's idea, IIRC.

Clark shows what is wrong with our military bureaucracy. That a brain dead idiot can become a general is amazing.
