Well - this is going to be a rather long post.
Below is the letter I've been sending to anyone I could think of. Below that is the response I received from Lucianne.com

"Dear Lucianne,
It is critical that someone discuss this topic in a meaningful way. Jeb Bush put his political neck out when he intervened in the starvation death of Terri Schiavo. He is going to be labeled as over reaching because no news media will air a full discussion of Terri Schiavo. Receiving hundreds of thousands of email , phone calls and letters, the Bush Florida administration and legislature did the only thing they could do where the courts had failed. Now, he is being demonized by the left for his unprecedented action.

Though I am from Texas, I have been following and advocating for Terri Schiavo for nearly a year. I am a middle class, educated, employed, wife, mother and citizen. I am at the far end of no spectrum. I have voted both Democratic and Republican tickets. There are thousands more, like me, who have been moved by the issues surrounding Terri Schiavo.

No one is willing to invest in the case because it is a Republican elected judiciary whose decisions are in question. No disability organization will get involved because that would mean being on the same side as Governor Jeb Bush. Her plight is exiled to the Siberia of activist issues.

The particulars of the case are easily obtained from a web search. Those of us committed to her cause, do not believe or buy the standard media parroting regarding Terri Schiavo. Through extensive reading of the court documents available online, here is the true tag line: Terri Schiavo is a severely disabled woman who has been criminally denied the rights specified by Florida law to every other disabled individual. She deserves treatment and therapy for which she was awarded 1.6 millions dollars and which is proscribed, by law, as being her right. Not to mention the fact that her husband decided she wanted to die after receiving the jury award.

Terri Schiavo has not received any documented therapy or treatment for several years. There is a huge discrepancy between her situation and that of many others who would have her same characteristics. She deserves treatment and therapy immediately and must while away her time while her husband litigates her death and Jeb Bush litigates the constituionality of his intervention to save her life (which he and the Florida legislature did as response to enormouse pressure from interested individuals like me).

Thank you for your time. Any attention you could give the case on any platform available to you would be most appreciated."

The response:
"Thank you for this. We will revisit this case. You are right. It hasn't been properly handled or brought forward.

Best, Lucianne"

I continue to hope and send out notes. I know I became aware of the Terri Schiavo only when someone sent out email forwards two or three times. I finally looked into it and was apalled. Perhaps that is what it will take with the media. Keep up the voices everyone.

No, Felos is absent because he is fighting to keep a(n alleged) pedophile out of prison.

Though I do hope and pray that it is because he has been forewarned as you say!!

Terri's Family Denied Intervention a Second Time

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1096492/posts

March 12, 2004

Today, Judge Douglas Baird denied the parents of Terri Schindler-Schiavo (Bob and Mary Schindler) intervention and participation in the constitutionality case of Terri's Law for the second time.

Judge Baird had previously denied Terri's parents participation in November, 2003. Upon review of the courts previous order, the Second District Court of Appeals determined that:

"In denying the Schindlers' motion to intervene, the trial court did not address either of the elements of the Morgareidge intervention rule. Although the order denying the Schindlers' subsequent motion for rehearing does use language that appears to acknowledge the Morgareidge rule by referring to the insufficiency of the Schindlers? interest, that order does not explain why the Schindlers? interest was insufficient pursuant to the above rule. Because the court did not apply the rule set forth in Morgareidge when it denied the Schindlers? motion to intervene, the order is reversed." (Opinion filed February 13, 2004)

In his Amended Order today, Judge Baird states:

"The provision of Fla.R.Civ.P 1.230 control intervention. In order for the Schindlers to be entitled to intervene in this cause, they must demonstrate and interest in the matter in litigation of such a direct and immediate character that they will either gain or lose by the direct legal operation and effect of judgment. Morgareidge v. Howey, 78 So. 14 (Fla. 1918). It is the opinion of this court that they have not demonstrated such an interest and are therefore not entitled to intervene."

there should not be a day goes by without Terri's family, Jeb et al hearing from at least a few of us.

I cannot impress the importance of contacting these lawmakers with information. Often.
Send them laws, opinions, thoughts, feelings, debate an article, educate, educate, educate.

I agree 100% with you. These lawmakers should hear from us seven days a week.

Thanks for posting that, a. What's really great is that it is stated sincerely, factually, from your heart to Lucianne's -- may we all take a few moments to do the same, esp. as info like this 'insurnace' must be brought out.

Oh, LORD God, prayers continue for strength, wisdom, and ability in carrying on Terri's fight -- not our will, but Yours be done, and not by our might, but by Your mighty hand. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

" to do the same" -- meaning to send notes and info along to whomever is on our mind or heart. Thinking.

"It is the opinion of this court that they have not demonstrated such an interest and are therefore not entitled to intervene."

This is very disheartening. I cannot imagine anyone having any more of an "interest" than Terri's parents. Sad beyond belief.

Hi you guys - saw this and wondered if there is potential here...

The event has already occurred but - could someone initiate more lectures at a college campus?

How do we get the Daily Threads posted to the front of the Schiavo links? Can it be done as a Post Article? I think a lot of people can't find this.

good find, great thought. I wonder who lectured -- was this a fair & balanced presentation, or was there a foregone conclusion? Terri's case was on trial to this audience of nurses and social workers, was she fairly represented?
Religion-health care lecture series set

Spring Hill College, Mercy Medical and Providence Hospital will present a lecture series beginning this month titled, "Religion, Ethics & Healthcare." The public is invited, and admission is free. The first program, "Feeding Terri Schiavo: Is there a Common Good?" is scheduled for March 30 at 7 p.m. at Spring Hill College's Gautrelet Room and March 31 at 7 p.m. at Mercy Medical's Dining Room, 101 Villa Drive, Daphne.

Each presentation will last about 75 minutes. Contact hours have been approved for nurses and social workers. Light refreshments will be served. For information, call 621-4280.

by starting a new thread.

sweetliberty did such a good job with these daily threads, put a lot of time into making sure various terri threads were catalogued. That would not necessarily need to be done -- you could just post a new "terri's daily thread" if you like. You are right, it is hard to find, and new thread would be a benefit. Thanks for all you are doing for Terri.
