Powell and Robinson are the only 2 people that should be heavily considered in this race. Although, I think it's more of a "Anybody But Helvey" situation. Nobody's supporting Ed Powell. Let's not kid around.
Although, I think it's more of a "Anybody But Helvey" situation.
Go away, troll. Your accusations are baseless:
Pete Brunstetter, chairman of the County Commissioners, has also agreed to Co-Chair the Helvey for Congress campaign.
Republican Jay Helvey, Congressional Candidate in North Carolina's 5th District, announced today that Jerry Long, former Chairman and CEO of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, will serve as campaign Finance Director for Helvey for Congress.
Gerald Long & Pete Brunstetter ain't gonna support some fake Republican.
I'm glad to see that Helvey is getting some support from a few prominent Democrat-backers. Richard Burr has been getting some of Erskine's supporters to switch over to him, as well.

I realize that Long and Brunstetter are behind Helvey. When you run as a Republican, some Republicans are surely going to get on board. Helvey is a "fresh face", but not a proven Republican and especially not a "great" business leader as great business leaders do not run their companies into bankruptcy. Can you deny that Helvey ran a division of JP Morgan into bankruptcy? Can you deny that his house is in his wife's name as www.JayHelvey.com clearly shows (indicating financial troubles)? It is the nature of the game that some established Republicans will get behind anyone running as a stated "Republican"...BUT, when you have been proven to be backed by Liberal Democrats (like Junior Johnson), not moderate Democrats, you are in bed with the Democratic Party. I am glad that you know so much about the 5th District...do you reside there? You can never doubt grassroots campaigning, and from what I hear, Ed Powell's message is resonating as he tours the district. He is someone with past legislative experience, and tireless work in Forsyth County. He helped resurrect the Republican Party in Forsyth County (as its Chairman) when there was only one county office held by a Republican...Judge Abner Alexander. These are facts. I like this troll person. I am not going away, if it's just to stump you on your pro-Helvey stances. Call me troll, I am beginning to like it. Can you find a better pic though? I'd appreciate it. Let's please not compare Helvey to Richard Burr...there are no similarities outside of their age.

Ed Powell doesn't have a message. His campaign doesn't have a shot. He's a lobbyist for the NCAE. He'll say whatever you pay him to say... TROLL!!!
To: gop_loser
He LOBBIES REPUBLICANS for the NCAE!!! He isn't a Liberal advocate for them. Uninformed minds need to know....

So is Helvey a scumbag or isn't he?
Is Vernon Robinson saying Helvey is a scumbag?
Personally, I respect Robinson a lot from what I know about him.

Well Rumors, you've been a busy little newbie since signing up TODAY.
What's the deal? Are you running against Robinson? Are you a RAT candidate or perhaps a Republican opponent?
I watched your little video and it wasn't at all apparent to me that he was making fun of religion at all. That little gesture could have been in relation to pretty much anything and just taken out of context.
I think you are protesting a bit too much.
