Of course if they made a billboard of Allah carrying a dead chicken the "fatwas" couldn't be announced fast enough.I'll have one of those "chicken fatwas".

I'm probably going to have a fatwa named after me for that... Oh well, at least I'm p***ing off the right people! ; )

Has anyone from PETA explained the significance of the cross-hairs on the O in GO? Is it a rifle sight? Is it the Zodiac Killer's signature? Is it a pagan symbol? Is it a reflection of the Christian cross? You see the "cross-haired" letter O in a lot of old European script. I don't think it is supposed to mean anything.

Too bad we ain't in Europe, eh PL? Well, I'm in Europe. I see that sort of script all the time around here...and not just for Catholic churches.
PETA is Vegan code for Tone Deaf.
I like to tell them that PETA really means "People for the Eating of Tasty Animals."

Not offensive?...not anti-Catholic?...
it poses a picture or who we consider the mother of Jesus, with a little cross fit in for good measure, depicting what we consider a Holy and important event ...the birth of Our Savior...
this is for sure.....Catholics are targeted now by everybody... it is so cool now to be anti-Catholic, very acceptable....but soon it will be all the "others"....the Baptists, the Mormons, the people from the Church of Christ...
..its just a matter of time when if you don't belong to the "right" church, the govt and the law and the media and the Howood crowd will attack you with impunity...
don't stand up for anything substantial..like anti-abortion, or anti-gay marriage, etc....
There is an onslaught against Christianity and many people are just laughing it off just because its the Catholics now....

I wondered how PETA was going to top the audacity of last year's "Chicken Holocaust".
Now I know. Chickens are like Jesus. Oh come, let us adore Them. Uh huh...
To: cherry
I'm not Catholic and I find it offensive too. No one on the looney left (and they don't get much loonier than PETA) would dare use a Muslem religious symbol to advance their propaganda.

They've already compared the slaughter of chickens to the Holocaust. What makes you so sure PETA won't launch a "Crusade for Vegetarianism" next year?
To: hellinahandcart
I sure get tired of the loonies dominating the news. Would rather hear about some of the people who are working hard to make positive contributions, or maybe, the 160 terrorism convictions obtained by justice department in addition to the daily drumbeat of casualties in Iraq.

I'll make sure and order "The Big 96'er" next time I go out for steak.

That might say more than the "vegetarian" thing.

I don't see this as offensive. I presume you are joking.
this is doubly offensive.
First, it equates Jesus christ as a chicken.
Second, it equates a chicken as just as valuable as a human baby (which, of course, radical animal liberation writers like Peter Singer insist is true).
Third, it mocks Mary, the mother of Jesus, a woman beloved of three major religions (Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Islam)
Four, it is an imitation of the famous sailor Madonna in Gloucester: where a catholic church has statue of Mary holding a ship like she held her Son after death in the famous Pieta...Rhode Island yuppie "cafeteria catholics" might not remember this, but Rhode Island Portuguese and other ethnics who have relatives in the fishing business will know that this is ridiculing their "madonna"...

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals launched the campaign in Rhode Island because it has the highest percentage of Catholics in the United States. Catholic Ping - let me know if you want on/off this list

Well, at least we now have someone to fight the terrorists at PETA:
The Center for Consumer Freedom
They're running ads on Fox News Channel about how PETA is a terrorist-supporting organization.
