The Saudis would be signing their own death warrant if they made any kind of deal with Al Qaeda. They have to fight this thing NOW and eliminate it. I think most of them know that there is no bargaining with the devil. At least, not any more.

Inside job.
I don't think that Osama, (if he's still alive), would know the exact whereabouts of a Saudi prince on safari if they didn't have inside information from someone.
How else do you get enough people together at the spot to fight, what sounds like, a pitched battle.
You know these people had guns with them. They were on SAFARI.

I guess maybe they thought it would start to look suspicious if a third prince died of thirst in the desert. My vote is for "family squabble".
