Start with Mindinao, then move to Teheran, then ... the possible ground zero points are sooooo target rich.

This can't be true. If there was such a threat, surely Bush and Ridge would do something about our wide open borders and the thousands coming in everyday.

I know this has been mentioned before, but I have noticed a definite increase in the number of Emergency Broadcast test messages. I realize this is standard and mandatory, but what frequency is normal?

Local TV and radio stations must have a short test once per week (just a few seconds), at random times, and one long test per month (with an actual "this is a test"-style announcement), again at random times. Due to the randomness, one "weekly" test could be the day after the last one, making them seem like they've increased. And there's no exceptions for the tests, so if you've had a lot of bad weather and flooding that caused 15 EAS alerts over the last few days, you're still going to get your weekly and monthly tests even if they only hours after a legitimate alert.

On top of that, every local cable company is also now required to air weekly and monthly tests of their own. It's all completely normal.

The EBS messages also appear to be increasingly more complex, i.e. they seem to be testing longer messages. Is it just me?

No, it's not just you. It's all been computerized over the last few years, so there's lots of nasty beeps and computer tones inserted. But none of this has anything to do with Homeland Security. Most of the changes date back to 1997-98.

Good points regarding al qaeda's missunderstanding of some key USA characteristics: our military and civilain autonomy. Reminds me of a comment that I believe mullah omar or someone made in a video shown featuring usama in late 2001 after Sept. 11. It was that video where everyone is sitting around and recanting stories and dreams about 911. Anyway, mullah omar or someone else is heard talking about what he thought the USA thought was happening on 911 in the beginning of the attack. I laughed when he sort of speculated and said that we thought it was a coup perhaps. But we Americans know that we do not have coups here, don't we?!

al qaeda is not stupid; there is much brain power and education on their side. But there are a few things that they have not understood about America.

Good point. If a nuke went off, we'd know the source (of the radioactive material) country within days. Our military would then unleash hell upon all those responsible or even remotely responsible. I would expect that it would be the end of the Islamic countries and perhaps the end of the puppet masters (the current Chinese leadership) as well.

What if the radioactive material comes from the former Soviet Union (or Russia)?

If I recall correctly, they were having a hard time keeping control of the stuff at the end of the Cold War.

Would we have to nuke Russia???

What would we do if the radioactive material is formerly from Russia?

What can I say: I like my weapons jam-packed full of megatons and megatons of crowd-pleasin' sunshine !!

So, the next time the Islamofascists attack the US of A, it's time to Light Up Their Lives. In fact, many will get SO lit up, they'll even glow at night. . .

They weren't the only ones that knew. Somehow the rumor made the rounds in the Jewish community as well. Friend of mine didn't go to work that day... due to such a rumor. Guess the Mossad got some good intelligence on (at the time) possible strike.

You are scaring me, about the big NYC studios being targets.

Tell Shep Smith to stay away from the windows!

OTOH, let Matt Lauer keep on sitting in front of the window.

It's hard to stay rational when confronted with people cheering the deaths of our innocent ones. I understand.

agree except for one thing. If I witness another group of "innocent" muslims cheering 9/11 like I did on 9/12 they will pay (the ones cheering).

I don't know, maybe nukes are recycable.

When I was in college, my family took a trip to London and I took my little sister to the Imperial War Museum (a very cool place to visit). In the middle of the floor was a model of the Little Boy A-Bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

Next to us, a English schoolboy asked his dad, "Is that the A-bomb the Americans dropped."

And his dad answered, "NO, that's just a replica, the real one is probably in Washington."

My sister and I couldn't help laughing in the their faces!

Sure would be a blow to multiculturalism if all these moon-doggies departed.
