When I was in highschool (9 years ago) the police just brought in a drug dog while class was in session, and recorded which lockers the dog showed interest in. Those students were then called out of class later. No fuss, no drama. This sounds extreme.
To: Wolfie
" During the raid, a police dog sniffed drug residue on 12 book bags but found no drugs. No one was arrested."
But they did it "for the chillrun!"
I hope they fry these Jack-booted-thugs, but that will never happen as long as we have the anti-Constitutional WOD! They are heroes, to many on this site!
One day, the sheeple will open their collective eyes to the 'true' abuse of the Cpmstitutional guarantee of individual rights! Until then, we can pray, "Come quickly, Lord Jesus!"
God gave us liberty, and some so-called 'christian' folk try to take them away! Does that mean we can sin, God forbid!

Hoisington said he will review the SLED report Monday with Goose Creek Mayor Michael Heitzler... Heitzler said that a criminal charge against one or more of his officers is a "daunting possibility..." "But I hope that will not be the case," he said. "But if the solicitor thinks some crime has been committed, I will take the personnel action with the police officer he believes was involved in criminal activity... "I will take my lead from the solicitor." Damn! Don't you just love to see a principled politician take a firm stand?

Yep a real need to use drawn guns in a HS which is very likely to be populated by gun toting drug lords

The problem is that the police know going into the situation that nothing will happen to them if they get charged with over-reacting and find no drugs. These type of situations are occuring with impunity lately and the police have nothing to fear - they are the highest authority in this corrupt generation and they know it.

Damn! Don't you just love to see a principled politician take a firm stand?Very true! They don't mention that Mayor Heitzler is also an elementary school principal for the district.

"Solicitor Ralph Hoisington said Friday that he will decide next week whether Goose Creek police broke any laws Nov. 5 when officers raided Stratford High School with guns drawn during a search for drugs."
How much does anyone want to bet that it will be decided that the cops didn't break any laws? Might have used poor judgment, but that doesn't mean that they broke any laws. Thank God know one was hurt, this time.
If that's to be the case, the ball is in the parents' court. All they have to do is ask themselves Do I want my son or daughter in a school where a bunch of jackbooted thugs with drawn guns can harrass my kid?
It's as simple as that.

What a spineless jellyfish twerp of a mayor! Lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.
This Mayor just released himself from the entire episode and is more than willing to burn an officer or two to save his own hide. These guys were under orders from someone, doing what they do and with gusto. Their briefing should have included gun protocol among other varied outlines of instruction and objective.
If it didn't, the guys on top need to get burned first!

Oh brother. These city officials are just trying to cover their own asses so that they won't be targeted in the federal civil rights suit. Too little too late. Jerks.

They're going to get sued. The lawsuits are in the works. Everyone from that poor schmuck principal who claims he didn't realize the thugs would be pulling guns to the thug cops and everyone else in between, below, and above.
Tough. My heart bleeds for them all/sarcasm.

These officers were simply protecting themselves from unknown dangers like;
The officer in Tennessee who shot a family's little bulldog-boxer mix that was about to lick him to death
Or the officer in Philadelphia who shot a homeless man who raised a metal chair over his head
Or the officer in Tampa Florida that shot a guy to death who was wielding a putty knife...

These thugs need unemployed immediately. The guiding principle should be that no gun should be drawn unless the police officer feels his life is endangered. Otherwise a drawn arm becomes an assault, pure and simple.
