Cranberry Trivia
November 2002

  • Wild cranberries were probably served at the first Thanksgiving meal.

  • Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and New Jersey are the top three cranberry growers in America. About 10% of the country’s cranberries come from New Jersey.

"Cranberries transcend the categories of Good and Bad. Cranberries are Mephistophelianly wicked. Eating cranberries is pact with the devil! Americans need to realize that their addiction to cranberries makes the whole world resent them. You wonder why the Islamokazies and French hate us? Look no further than cranberries! We are a bunch of self-satisfied, cranberry gulping, narrow-minded diners."

And I thought it was because we ate popcorn and peanut butter (hopefully not at the same time.)

My friends son suffers from bouts of "Gout" very painful, and his doctor, a real MD. has him drink real, straight Cranberry Juice from Trader Joe's. It must be very bad tasting as he( the Son) makes the worst faces, and barks and gags around, but it cures his gout.
