Maybe we should ask the FEC why Americans coming together and MoveOn.org are allowed to do this?

What would they say?

One thing about ole Dick. He knows the clintons. He has nailed it here. It's almost a eureka moment. Of course the clintons are busy building power separate from the DNC in case Dean should win. I may have to go wash my fingers, but this almost makes one wish for Dean to win so we can be rid of the clintons (maybe). So now we know why Soros is ponying up the money. Is there no stopping these people?

Soros also donates millions a year to gun-banning groups and foundations.

He's a firm believer that only the police and military need guns.

What's his end game?

The "final solution to the right-wing-reactionaries-standing-in-the-way-of-progressive-socialsim problem?"

Soros is a closet communist. These guys want to take full advantage of the free enterprice system to make money; yet, in their heart they favor communism. It is similar to the Moslems who are happy to use this country's freedome to propagate their faith, and plot against the U.S.; yet, they support the oppressive dictatorships of all Moslem nations.

If the Republicans use that loophole how much are they going to collect and how shrill will the democrats be about it?

It's starting to sound like it. Whenever I see the name Clinton, I know something dirty is underfoot.

What will be very educational is when someone publishes the donation list. I'm sure Sean Penn and Barbra Streisand will be right at the top.

While I still distrust Morris, he is invaluable as a pundit who knows how the Clinton cabal works from the inside. Like a fly on the wall, he has seen the ugliness that he helped create. He reveals things that get other men Arkancided. I suspect his conscience impells him to bust the democrats on their corruption.

He must have some fascinating files on CDR stashed in a safe deposit box somewhere.

Just what "campaign finance reform" intended: putting money politics back into the hands of a few, ultra-rich, unaccountable, Marxist idealogues. Way to go, McCain!

Makes you wonder if Dean isn't the Dem equivalent of Goldwater in '64. If he is, I hope there's no "Dean-Democrat" lurking to play the role of Reagan in 16 years.

Perhaps I should start another ping list.

One upside to this: The old fossils (mostly Catholics) in the Northeast who are still voting against Herbert Hoover, and voting for baby-killers just because they are called "Democrats" will not be so likely to be loyal to "Americans Coming Together." What a Clintonian name, btw!

I have been saying that Hillary! needs to get into the '04 primaries in order to head off Dean, because if Dean wraps it up early, his Job #1 will be the de-Clintonization of the Democratic Party, eliminating any chance for Hillary! '08.

In my simple mind, I failed to see the third way.

But I think this is going to be a train wreck for the 'Rats. If the Clintons control Americans Coming Together (not a bad idea, but difficult to do consistently in practice...), the Dean wing of the Democratic Party will want nothing to do with it. They will run their losing campaign, but stay as far away from the Clintons as possible. So they you will have a third entity, completely beholden to Hillary! but banned by law from running a candidate. It will be the Mother of All Political Slush Funds. Exactly what they will do with this money (aside from stealing it, of course) is difficult to say.

But it is clear that as the Democratic Party ship sinks, the Clintons are going to be the first 'Rats off. The Democratic Party can now add it's name to the long and ever growing list of people and groups used and discarded by the Clintons.

A couple of lines from the article:

Dean seems destined to win the nomination and with it control of the party.

Dean, upon copping the [Democratic nomination], is likely to fire Terry MacAuliffe and take control of the Democratic National Committee.

So if Dean gets the nomination, he will have control of the Democratic party, and will have the power to fire MacAuliffe.

How does this work?

Is the Democratic party structured so that the presidential nominee becomes the formal head of the party with an "official" power to fire MacAuliffe types when he is nominated? Is this a part of the party's bylaws or something? Or is it an informal political thing, an implicit receipt of powers that everyone recognizes but which isn't formal per se?

Just curious. I've seen it written a couple of times that if/when Dean gets the nomination, he'll certainly fire MacAuliffe.

Isn't ACT UP a homosexual activists group? Is ACT part and parcel of each other? Inquiring minds want to know...:)

Soros believes that the police and the military need guns? I'm shocked! Maybe he's not as liberal as I thought . . .

Maybe we should ask the FEC why Americans coming together and MoveOn.org are allowed to do this?

According to the new campaign finance laws, organizations like Americans Coming Together and Move On are allowed to take soft money and put on ads supporting a particular candidate or opposing a particular. HOWEVER, they are not allowed to coordinate with a political party.

Fred Barnes mentioned the other night on Special Report with Brit Hume that Americans Coming Together and Move On have offices in the SAME building as the DNC, in Washington DC.

Anyone want to bet that there won't be coordination?
