Of course not here they would be put in jail.

In Islamic countries it is happening now. Why are you defending them?

I'm defending law-abiding muslims who are citizens of THIS country. I defend nothing in any other country, nor have any of my posts on this thread. So get over yourself.

No your posts are defending there faith there beleif system.
That is just like people that defend people that are pro-life defending the bombing of abortion clinics, although ther'e not actually doing the bombing.
You do not protect values that go agaisnt the protection of human beings.

I do not defend their faith. I defend their right to live by their faith within this nation, as long as they adhere to the laws of this nation. Big difference. SO, as I said: Get over yourself.

But you fail to realize that they may be breaking laws due to there FAITH.

Many people break laws as you well know saying it is part of there faith.

Teaching people and not advocating Mutilations, Pedophilia,
the denegration of women and children are what never should be defended within ISLAM.

If you say they have a right to practice there faith then what does that say about those acts that are part of there faith?

I'm still waiting for you to show proof that this type of stuff is happening within this country due to Islam - especially in numbers that indicate that it is Islam to blame, and not just a few twisted individuals.

Take your time. I can wait.

Many of Islam's central documents call to violence.

Then when the Sacred Months have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (Jews - see V.82) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salât (Keep up prayer - Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât ( - pay the poor-rate), then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

The prophet Mohammed (may he rest in peace) once said: "A cheap rug is more valuable in a man's home than a woman"
-- From the Hadith recorded by (off-site) Sahih Al-Bukhari.

VIII.12 Cut off the fingertips of unbelievers
XLVII.4 Smite the neck of unbelievers
X.4 ; V.10 ; V.86 Severe Punishment for atheists
XXII.19-22 ; LXXII.23, XCVIII.6 Severe Punishment for non-believers
XVII.10 Punishing non-believers of Hereafter

Are you asking me to give you cases of Muslims in Jail due to religious or terrorist practices?

I am trying to tell you that defending ISALM is defending henious acts that are illegal, and you still don't beleive it?

And here is where you are missing the point, Missy - I am not defending Islam per se - I am defending the rights of peopl ein this country, whether they be Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, whatever, to worship freely within THIS COUNTRY provided they adhere to the laws we have laid down.

You, on the other hand, are wanting to change the constitution, or ignore it all together, because you are afraid. That, my friend, is a liberal thing - you are willing to sacrifice everyone else's liberties in order to feel safe, and that makes you my enemy.

Missyme- I had another look at the constitution today and it is a powerful document. It is what makes us what we are. There is no denying it and those that we disagree with on this thread are correct in defending it.Sadly we have come to the point where we are torn between self preservation and common sense or following the laws which have given us and our forbearers the way of life that we enjoy as Americans. However, it would be wise to remember that strict adherence to our laws have led to some catastrhophic outcomes,(Think O.J.) Most of the people that we have been debating are people who have been here defending the constitution and arguing through muck like this long before we ever stumbled across this site, and I have a helluva lot of respect for them. So, while I admit admiration at your fierce defense of common sense, we must defer to that document which has given us a great chance at life and the right to try and snip at it's very corners and margins in order to make it fit our sense of well being. Its good that we cannot change it. Accept it, but keep one eye open.

OK I am not your enemy nor do I want to change the constitution out of fear. What I was always trying to say on this is that Muslims at this point in time limit there worship to Mosqu'e due to the fact they might be endosing a practice to break our laws. I don't think they should be on public radio. If ISLAM is truly a peaceful monotheistic faith it claims to be then OKAY bring your faith to the forefront like Christians and Jews in this country. I am not trying to limit there walks here in the USA, but I feel they need to be watched, maybe we can at least agree to that..... A friend not an enemy...

So, help me to understand this (because earlier you had said you wanted to ban/outlaw Islam) as it's kind of confusing - are you saying that you think they should worship out in the open, and not do it inside their "churches"? Or are you saying that they should only be able to worship inside their churches, and nowhere else?

Maybe I'm reading it wrong?

There worship should be in a mosqu'e in the privacy of there homes, or buildings, not on public radio and television. Don't you think if they had a crusade in a huge stadium like Billy Graham does, they would be risking there own safety due to the un-trust most people and law enforcement have for them right now?

What about Private Radio and Television? If no tax dollars are being used to support it, I just don't see the problem. If Muslims want to own and operate a radio station, and broadcast religious-based shows, they can - just lik eyou or I could. As long as there are no FCC violations, then I don't see the problem. If they are not advocating revolution or overthrow of the government, I don't see the problem.

Face it - as long as they are adhering to our laws, there is nothing we can really do, and I for one don't want to go down that road. It would set a precedent that I would not like - namely that if enough people got together and decided that Baptists were a danger, then my religion could face the same thing.

Evertime somebody objects to islam and its prophet they bring up the old testament the one thing they wont say is that CHRISTAINS have evolved, islam has not they want you to understand their religion whether you want to or not, and if you bring up your concerns you are called a bigot and a racist and you are told to go away, and if mr jihad had his way you would be band from this sight, so much for tolerance I believe islam came right from the bowels of hell and when they preach their crap about the love they have for CHRISTIANS it is only to decieve you or anyone who will listen, and yes they should be able to preach their crap but we should be able to point out that it is a cult .

I don't really think anyone is arguing that point, really. But, in pointing it out to be a "cult", make sure you do it using truth, not rumour;facts, not falsehoods; and do it in such a way as to not paint a subset of the population as deserving of being oppressed etc... because we do NOT want to go down that road as a nation. Trust me on this. We don't.

I just don't want to turn my televison on or radio and listen to a sermon on ISLAM, sure I can turn it off, but there are many vulnreable people out there that might be influenced by this faith that is based on violence, lies and the mis-treatment of women and children, other than that I think Muslims should be able to worship there faith anywhere else.

I am with you, and like I have been chatting with Chad is that I do not want ISLAM preached on a loud speaker when I am walking to church or in the park that summons Mulsims to prayer or listen to a sermon on ISLAM on network television. I would feel the same about NAMBLA, the KKK, or like you say any other cult that preaches a beleif system that is harmful to people.
