Actually this is probably one of Johnny Hart's most creative and interesting cartoons.

I think CAIR should just go rot in hell or return to Arabia - not much difference in either place.

I get sick and tired of these evil and wicked bastards who leave their own God forsaken Hell hole - that terrorizes any religion other than their own - come to a nation that is predominately Protestant Christian, and then get upset when we get tired of their demonic religion that advocate killing my neighbors and mutiliating and torturing innocent people.

It's a cartoon. It is not a bomb. It is a drawing. It is not a plane piloted into the side of a populated mosque. It is a First Amendment free expression. Someone needs to tell CAIR that if they want to chop the head off someone who does not express Islam in glowing (and lying) terms, then they should get the hell out of a country that is obviously too good for their evil, wicked souls.

This is true multiculturalism. The most violent and cut-throat culture wins.

Marshall Blonsky, professor of semiotics at the New School in New York, said for one thing, people don't slam outhouse doors.

This guy has been teaching at "The New School for Social Research" (its real name) at 12th St and Sixth Avenue in Manhattan for heaven knows how long, and he thinks he knows anything about outhouses?

As a good old Georgia girl with personal experience digging outhouse vaults as well as using them, I can tell Mr. Effete Manhattanite Blonsky that every outhouse I've ever been in has a good strong spring on the door. It keeps the critters out and the smell in. And it goes "SLAM!"

He's just looking for an opportunity to bad-mouth a Christian guy from flyover country and curry favor with his putative masters the MooseLimbs.

These a-holes should be cleaning up their 'religion' instead of playing cheap-and-obvious politics. Islam has been around long enough, and terrorists have been hiding under it long enough, that the majority should have GOTTEN RID OF THEM BY NOW.

Blonsky obviously hasn't done much camping, especially in primitive campsites. The slamming of outhouse doors is the "morning rooster" of campers.

All that matters, he said, is the way people interpret it. Therefore, even if Hart intended no offense, the offense is there.

Well then should I be offended at the gun monument outside of the UN? How about my tax dollars confiscated by the government to pay for Maplethorpe's bullwhip-up-the-ass photo, or the crucifix in a jar of urine "art" or a black Madonna picture with little images of female genitalia floating around her and the whole thing splattered with bovine dung. Why aren't those things of matter of your concern, Marshall Blonksy, when orders of magnitude more of people are offended by that dreck?

Not a shadow of a doubt in my mind, exactly what he meant.

Blonsky opined that when it comes to artistic criticism, it is a mistake to give much weight at all to the artist's stated intention.

All that matters, he said, is the way people interpret it. Therefore, even if Hart intended no offense, the offense is there.

Sounds like CAIR has been taking lessons from the NAACP and the other 'politics of victimization' bullies.

I saw this story on the HLN ticker and thought that it must be a doozy. However, once I saw the strip, I am completely convinced that these Islamic crybabies need to lighten up.

Maybe they should be asking themselves, What has the 'religion of peace' done in the name of peace recently? It seems to me that all they can do is blow stuff up and kill a lot of people who aren't hurting anybody.

"All that matters, he said, is the way people interpret it. Therefore, even if Hart intended no offense, the offense is there."

I've noticed how over the past year, this philosophical quip is being made more and more routinely. Perhaps merely another step past 'political correctness'. When I observe situations in Scripture where the issue arises, such as Jesus Christ and the Pharisees and Sadduces, I notice there is no righteousness assigned to those who simply interpret an issue as an offense.

Even if countered by recomendations regarding eating foods not observed by those being witnessed or visited, the lesons are not that the offended are righteous. Instead the issue is how to avoid contrived arguments.

In contrast, we seem to live in an age where ay perception or interpretation of offense is given more respect than those seeking not to offend.

IMHO, the entire 'PC' philosophy is best handled by a simple philosophy of 'Get a Life' (preferably receive life eternally,..it's very simple).

What complete morons. Obviously they never spent much time in the south. Uhhh....and even if their assessment was accurate, so what? This is America. We're supposed to have free speech, free press and all that. We don't worship their pedophile moon god. If they don't like what someone says....then don't read it!!

OK, just for the heck of it, I did a google search on American political cartoons during WWII, and they were brutal compared to what we see in our newspapers today.

The WWII cartoonists ripped on the Japanese and German civilians, their leaders, their military... everything was fair game. No one walked around on eggshells worried that they might offend the poor widdle kamikaze pilots, the Nazis, or the cultures that spawned them. Even Dr. Seuss got into the act, and drew cartoons of cute little characters with big smiles on their faces as they bombed German cities and sunk U-boats.

In case the Muslims hadn't noticed, Americans enjoy satire (or at least we used to). It's part of our culture (or it used to be, anyway). We ridicule everyone and everything, including ourselves (though now it seems we increasingly fear ridiculing anything but ourselves).

I've seen some of the nasty cartoons that Muslims have published about the Jews. Muslims have a lot of nerve complaining about American cartoonists who make subtle little jabs, when their newspapers spew some of the most vicious hatred ever put in print on a daily basis.

Ibrahim Coopers reasoning ability on display in his complaint is a bigger SLAM on Islam than Hart's cartoon!

>>>Marshall Blonsky, professor of semiotics at the New School in New York, said for one thing, people don't slam outhouse doors. <<<

Blonsky doesn't sound like he was a farm boy. Every outhouse I was ever in had a big spring on it that made it slam after you entered. Usually a spring exactly like that was on the screen door on the house!

Bunch of hyper-sensetive idiots expanding their circle of hate!

Islamites are such a looney bunch of toons, any caricature is likely to be offensive to them.
