Go back and read the long article. Point is well made that the amendment option is not likely to suceed, given the majorities needed at both the federal and state level. What a poll says about the sheeples current twitching is irrelevant

while i agree with the substance of this, i had to comment on the sheeple thing. Don't see it here half so often as I see it when lurking over at DU, but in either case I can't stand it. Calling people "sheeple", which assumes that people just think what they are told and can't think for themselves expresses such disdain for the common folk. THere are no sheeple - just a lot of individuals with their own opinions.

Welcome to the Real World.

Sadly, most do not think at all. They react like sheep. Probably one percent of our fellow Americans actually think on anything beyond whats for supper or what TV shall we watch.

I've read the article but I still think he's wrong. Perhaps I'm naive.

This article sounds like other scare tactics used by the RATS. I remember several prominent RATS telling Republicans months ago not to even bring up the gay issue because it was divisive. It certainly will never succeed if it is never brought up. If it fails then so be it.

what a sad world you live in, where you are among the select few intelligent enough to converse with. Fortunately for me I live in a world where far more than 1% of the population can think for themselves. Assuming they can't is not only arrogant and incorrect, it's a losing concept. When people are treated like children who need to have decisions made for them, they tend to react badly. Give people the opportunity to think for themselves, and they will come up with their own opinions. There are people who simply follow, but not 99%. Give your fellow american some credit.
