Strikeforce: Morituri...
Hmmmm. I actually liked that series. Hope they don't butcher it too bad...
And, of course, Elektra has Jennifer Garner. Hubba hubba!

Captain America is in development with "a race between some of the world's greatest writers" to see who will pen the script.
Whooo Hooooo
I hope they show him knocking the hell out of Saddam instead of Hitler in the opening pages(so to speek).

Punisher movie looks very promising - there is a smallish trailer already out there that seems to have the right atmosphere for the Punisher story, and it appears they are sticking much closer to the comic continuity (and there are no no-talent former bodybuilder-actors invovled in this production).
The Nick Fury movie is news, and something I am definitely looking forward to. I am wondering if the actor mentioned might be Kurt Russell; I have heard is a big Nick Fury fan.

Snake Plissken...eyepatch and all...was simply Nick Fury at his best. :)
As for THE PUNISHER...I don't know if bringing in John Travolta is such a wise move. I can hear the studio exec now..."Listen ta me...three words to throw atcha...Battlefield Eart 2!. Huh? Huh?"

Wasn't there already a version of Punisher starring Dolph Lundgren?

They should do "The Unknown Soldier"
Heck, I'd be happy if they just re-released the old "Combat" tv series...

Yes. They both sucked. Bad.
'Nuff said.

If he turns it over to the Hollywood crowd they will probably have him save America from an evil right-wing president who wants to start WWIII.

I hope they show him [Captain America] knocking the hell out of Saddam instead of Hitler in the opening pages(so to speak).
Tsk, tsk, you are so behind the times! Obviously, the evil to be fought has to be something ostentatiously right wing - like the Aryan menace in the movie version of 'Sum of All Fears'.
Personally, I expect Captain America to take on a bunch of Christians who refuse to follow Hillary instead of Jesus - but maybe I'm just cynical.

As much as it pains me, it sounds like The Punisher is going to be a worse movie than the Dolph Lundgren version from the 80's. Thomas Jane is not exactly ideal for the role, but that's not the worst of it. It's set in Florida, Frank Castle is now some kind of generic "special agent", his family gets killed in a deliberate hit, and he finds a T-shirt with the skull on it, and starts using it as his costume.
Gone is the New York setting, the idea of Castle being a Vietnam vet (I think he's going to be a vet of Gulf War I in this thing), and gone is the idea that his family was killed as a result of pure bad luck. I always thought this was key to the story - he and his family stumbled onto something in the middle of Central Park, and his family died as a result. The randomness of it was one of the things that pushed him over the edge, and made him go after all criminals. Don't even get me started on the idea of Castle finding a T-shirt with the skull on it.
Perhaps I've just spent too much time thinking about this.

I'm still suffering from the 70's mish-mash they made of Doctor Strange, my particular favorite.
