I think 99% of these death threats are generated by

Perens and other open-source advocates long have speculated SCO's lawsuits may be an attempt to attract buyers -- perhaps even IBM, if the litigation proved enough of an annoyance. Both McBride and Sontag reiterated that no such sale is being contemplated

You sow enough ill will, and behave like enough of an asshole, and you will inevitably reap something you don't want. and I guarantee that some point Darl will jump ship with his suitcase full of $$$$$.

Well, they can't come right out and say yes, that is getting way too close to confessing to extortion.

[SCO] announced expansion of its contract with the law firm of Bois, Schiller & Flexner, saying it will pay the firm and others $1 million cash and 400,000 stock shares. Sounds like the two law firms are merging.

So now McBride will sue someone for not warning him that extortion is a risky business.

I think 99% of these death threats are generated by Slashdot I'm not sure they are generated by Slashdot, but obviously a lot of the people who threaten such things congregate there. I've personally seen several posts on that website encouraging bodily harm, and the home addresses of SCO excutives posted as well.

Sounds like the two law firms are merging.Sounds like you have lawyers who have a vested interest in keeping SCO's stock high any way they can.
Before this whole thing, SCO stock was trading below $2 or so, now it's in the teens. It's in their best interest to drag this along and try keep the stock price up.
I wouldn't say this was a 'pump and dump' scheme, but I bet one could make the case that it was.

If you pop up out of nowhere with a business model based on suing every computer user in the Western Hemisphere, why is McBride surprised at this reaction?
To: LakerCJL
I wonder whether the bodyguards will be permitted to accompany McBride when he eventually does his "perp walk" for the looming securities fraud allegations...

Will the bodyguards be allowed to join McBride in his cell after the SEC investigation?

I've got a nice consipiracy theory. Maybe SCO intentionally leaked code (and using individuals to make sure it was incorporated) so that could get fees from the huge linux base.

Can support your statement by fact?

You can find a person's address in the library, in the phone book, or a cross-ref book.

Leave it to the brass buzzard to think he's landing a blow on Slashdot by saying what he did on Free Republic. Sometimes the guy just doesn't think before he talks.

You can find a person's address in the library, in the phone book, or a cross-ref book. So you're condoning that sort of thing? Posting someone's name and address on the internet along with threats of homocide? Your statement leads one to wonder, since that is what has been happening.
