The problem is when state retirement funds dump Putnam or corporations dump Putnam for their retirement funds, 403ks and 401ks.

One of the best kept secrets during the early two down days last week was that 12 to 14 billion $ were cashed in on the Friday before and basically Monday.

Janus is bleeding badly and Schwab is now getting hit with cash outs. So institutions and some individuals are cashing out of Putnam, Janus and Schwab.

I wonder if he managed Janus Worldwide. A quarter of my 401K is in Worldwide and it has performed pretty well, a lot better than Janus 20. Janus 20's manager needs to be shown the door now. The only thing keeping me in the 20 (half my portfolio) is inertia.

Thanks, 11 days later, Putnam's redemptions from cashing out funds went over 21 billion last week.

We still don't know if any of these hedge funds are associatied with George $oreA$$ or Warren Buffet. We finally have some in the media admitting that $oreA$$ and Buffet are trying to crash our Dollar.

It is amazing that a capitalistic country like the US doesn't have several conservative business reporting centers for TV, radio and the news wire services.

I think so, but REGULATIONS prevent me from giving you directions on a public board like FR. I gotta keep my nose clean or I'll get snagged in the "witch hunt!"

I'll drop a little hint. I always like things with "American" in their name and even more if the father of America is in one name of "All in the family!" Things with wracks of antlers are another favorite of mine.

However, if the competition really starts up between "Democrat Elliot Spitzer" and the Bush Administration's SEC, then all bets are off as EVERYONE will become a suspect and be instantly guilty because of "The Seriousness Of The Charge." (as Democrats are so fond of saying)

Of course, then, if they're ALL deemed "guilty," then it won't matter anymore since you won't be able to trust anybody and if you can't trust MF's, then you'll have to do all your own research/diversification/maintenance/timing/etc., etc., that you pay a manager and staff to do for you now.

In other words, if you work regular hours and aren't a rich Capitalist that can sit around watching your money all day, you're screwed again!!!

So my hope is that they'll arrest and charge the guilty, scare the hell outta everybody else to make them honest again and get this over with and out of the headlines so me and my clients can get on with our pursuit of happiness!!!

Thanks. I'm better at choosing Janus and Federated than American. Have no money there, at all.

My Federated fund is up over 41% for the year so I'm not worrying about it.
