Please No Flames. I'm just posting it, I didn't write it. (disclaimer to all those who feel posting anything about appointments is violating a honeymoon agreement) ... But the guy who did was just on with Uncle Lee and Melanie on KSFO 560 talking about appointments and such in the soon to be sworn-in Gub's administration. very interesting. Replay can be heard on the net from their site, go for the :10 - :30 minutes of the last hour (8am segment normally) to hear George's comments.
a quicksnip -- Conservative Republicans who a year or so ago declared Riordan a potential disaster for the state aren't objecting to him this year. LOL

...Schwarzenegger has adroitly reduced conservatives inside the party to a tame minority. He made them feel as if they were gaining power politically even as he was taking power away from them within their own party...
They can't say they weren't warned.

I guess the waiting to see what he does is over.I don't see where he "did" anything, exactly, except make a few appointments. I'm still waiting to see an actual policy decision...

For the most part, I'll wait until he's been in office for a while.

HAVE SAID ALL ALONG,
Conservatives needed to get some well placed, very articulate and persuasive conservatives next to Arnold who would be very effective and skillful at shaping his behavior and philosophy much more toward mainstream conservatism. He has ENOUGH financial/work conservative notions, it wouldn't be THAT much of a stretch for 2-3 very effective close buddies.
It's foolish to stand off and only throw rocks and chase him much more into his liberal network.

yes, I am smiling. I am, too....in a sad sort of way. And not because of your typing.
In order to enact conservative policy in the first place, one must get elected.
To assume Arnold is out to screw conservatism because of his across the board appointments is to misunderestimate his strategery.

Conservatives were screwed a long time before Arnold came along. I look at this as more of the same.

Look, Arnie has a tough job. He has a lot to accomplish and a solidly Democrat legislature to with which to do it. He needs the liberal aids to work these leftist drones. Look at the bright side, Arnie's Kennedy ties should insure some kind of loyalty from these aides.
